who makes Inkscape's icons?

Hi Friends, Mostly out of curiosity, I wonder who makes Inkscape's icons? Is there usually one person who does it? Or does whoever creates tools or features have the honor or responsibility to make the icons? I know that it's possible to use different or custom icon sets, if one either wants to create their own, or they install some that someone else made. But who creates the icons that ship with Inkscape? I guess I'm talking about .../share/icons/icons.svg. Thanks :-) brynn

Problem with Pattern when exporting to PDF or printing

Dear all We often use patterns to draw soil profiles and well logs to represent soil composition. Since Inkscape 0.91 we have a problem with exporting patterns to pdf and printing. In the printout or pdf the patterns disappear or appear as black areas. The patterns were defined with the previous version of inkscape. Question: is this problem known? I can provide a sample file if needed. unexpected scaling behavior 0.91 - bug?

Hi Friends, I'm trying to help someone at IF (http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19208) and came across some unexpected, and new behavior in 0.91. I've never seen this before. Steps to reproduce: -- in a new blank doc, draw a Star with 6 corners, spoke ration 0.5, rounded 0.3, randomize 0.09 -- add fill, remove stroke -- engage the scale in proportion option (lock the lock icon on the Selection control bar) -- change the W value -- Enter (or click in another field or on the canvas) -- W value changes to something different than what you entered I haven't been able to observe this when the lock icon is unlocked (scaling not in proportion). Also, while testing in the same doc, this behavior eventually stops. But in 4 new blank docs, with that kind of Star shape, this behavior has been consistent. Attached is a file that is showing the behavior for the star shapes only. Although without know what's causing it may or may not happen for anyone else. This is 0.91, 32-bit, exe installer, Win7, 64-bit. I thought it might be somehow related to the randomize setting, but after creating some new and different kinds of objects, and testing them, when I come back to the original star, the scaling behaves as expected. So it's clearly an inconsistent issue, and so far, I haven't discovered what's triggering it to start or stop. To test if it might be related to transform attribute (related to my custom default doc) I've tried in new layers. But the problem persists in the new layers. Hi Shlomi. Add a copy to original CC, maybe could be interesting to someone. Im using Evolution in a Debian Box in plain text mode. I usualy write whith the default "normal" mode that break links. I hope if I switch to "preformated" mode the links not broken anymore. how to create new filters

Hi Friends, For a long time I've been trying to learn how to create new Inkscape filters. I mean starting from scratch, not just building on existing filters. I've been able to do some very simple things, but my efforts usually devolve into one at a time, trying every option available. By sheer chance, I sometimes end up with something that might be useful. It would be so very helpful if someone could write a guide, which explains the basic concepts. I think I've finally managed to work out how the Filters Editor works. But I'm missing the basic concepts which would help me make decisions about 'what to do next'. I have contacted people who I know have created filters, who know how to do it, but without success in finding the info needed. And I thought about adding this to the Community To-Do List page. It's a lot like the need for a guide to writing extensions, I guess. But for some reason, it seems to me like more of a request for a tutorial, and that's not exactly what that page is for (I don't think). Although if it seems to the website team like it's appropriate, I can see to adding it there. But otherwise, I thought I'd just make a request to the user community. Can anyone either volunteer to write such a tutorial? Or otherwise point me (and everyone) to some resources for learning how? Thank you very much :-) brynn
