Colour of End Markers

Stupid question, for which I apologise, but can anyone tell me how to apply a coloured stroke fill to an arrowhead end marker? The line that it terminates is filled and stroked to my satisfaction and I'd assumed that end markers would follow suit, but no, they remain stubbornly black. I've searched 'Help@ and Tavmjong's splendid Inkscape Guide to no avail, so here I am with what must be an FAQ. Peter HB

Seeking documentation of Python bindings

Howdy, I'm interested in scripting extensions for Inkscape with Python. I've found the example scripts. I haven't yet found; - an explanation of the xml in the .inx file - the api available to Python scripts - a discussion of how Inkscape processes the share/extensions dir Googling hasn't been very productive. new ways to scroll and zoom

I know adding prefs settings for individual shortcuts is evil, but since we don't yet have a UI for editing keymaps, and these features were requested A LOT, I think in this case it's justified: * You can now enable Space+mouse drag to pan canvas, as it does in Adobe Illustrator. This mode is enabled by the "Left mouse button pans when Space is pressed" checkbox in the Scrolling tab of the Inksape Preferences dialog. By default it is off and pressing the spacebar key switches you to Selector and back, as it always did in Inkscape. * By default, rotating the mouse wheel scrolls the canvas vertically and Ctrl+wheel zooms in and out. Now, if you turn on the "Mouse wheel zooms by default" checkbox in the Scrolling tab of the Inksape Preferences dialog, this behavior is reversed: mouse wheel zooms without Ctrl and scrolls with Ctrl. This new mode should be familiar for users of AutoCAD and CorelDraw. * In the Zoom tool, right mouse button always zooms out instead of calling the context menu (which is rather useless in this tool anyway). -- bulia byak Inkscape. Ruler Preferences

By default, the rulers on an Inkscape document have an origin in the lower-left hand corner. Is there a setting or pref or config line I can change to move the origin to the upper left-hand corner?

Objects along path.

Hello, I wonder if it is possible in any way to apply an object to a path like in Corel or Illustrator. I.e. an object which is stretched and deformed along the length of a path. I could e.g. take a triangle and applying it to a path would yield a path with a spiky tip and a blunt base, the with of the triangle. If that object was life, i.e. changing the original triangle would change the path, that'd be even more useful. Another nice feature would be the ability to set the width of a path wither anywhere or at least at any knot -- w/o converting the path into outlines. Cheers, Moritz

Font disappears after upgrade on OS X

I upgraded inkscape from 0.44 to 0.45 on OS X. One of my fonts is no longer available, and of course it's one I was using for a project. The particular font is Onyx, for what it's worth. I tried running fc- cache -fv as myself and as root; fc-cache gives no errors but inkscape still can't see my font. I tried copying the font from my home directory where it was into the system font directory and no luck there either. Can anyone help me get inkscape to see this font again? John Haiducek

Hi Lynx, Have you tried snapping the center of the small circles to the contour of the big circle? Snapping options can be controlled in the document properties dialog. If you make sure that the center of the whole group of small circles is coincident with the center of the big circle, you can also make the small circles tangentially aligned by holding CTRL-SHIFT while scaling the whole group of small circles. If you want to try the snapping though you might want to use one of the latest precompiled versions (windows only) or compile the SVN version yourself, because snapping has improved a lot since v0.45.1 Diederik > Hello! > > I'm wondering how to aligne circles along a big circle and along a spiral. How to aligne a group of objects by aligning one of them?

Hello! Just got into another problem: I have group of objects grouped together and now want to aligne that whole group by alining on of the objects of the group to something. The one object of the group should pull the rest of the group with it when it gets aligned. Is that possible? Thanks Lynx
