How to include the tex (pstricks) output in latex?

Hello! I coudln't find instructions on how to include the tex-output of inkscape in a latex document. Does this output method support transparent gradients? If not what is the best way to get drawings with transparent gradients included in latex? Thanks Lynx

whiteboard

Hi there, does anyone used the whiteboard function succesfully? I tried 3 different jabber server and two of them (jabber.org and amessage.info) brought my a "login: no second SASL challenge offered by server" error and afterwards crash inkscape with an "internal error." The third server (gmx.de) worked. But i can sign into the other two with pidgin without a hassle, so any guess whats the problem? A not implemted auth type in inkscape? Espacially that jabber.org didn't work disappointed my a bit. greetings, Florian

problem with the scribble-xinput program of gtk

Hi, I compiled the source code scribble-xinput.c and excute it. When I click on the "Input Dialog" button, a window pops out, In the window, There are several devices to choose from: pad-cintiq21ux stylus-cintiq21ux eraser-cintiq21ux cursor-cintiq21ux and several Mode: Disabled Screen Window If I choose stylus, then choose screen, there is segmentation Button press on device 'stylus-cintiq21ux' I get "segmentation fault (core dumped)" If I choose other combinations, then nothing happened, I tried to print out the device source, and it is null. I do have a tablet that works for inkscape, which in turn use gtk. I really don't where the problem is? Does anyone have similar experience or know how to solve it? should be code? or my tablet? or something else? Controlling interpolation

Embedding SVG in webpages

Hello, I know this isn't exactly an Inkscape issue, but I gather there is some knowledge in this group so I'm asking here (and before getting tarred and feathered over at comp.infosystems.authoring.html for non-topicality). I want to embed an SVG image in a webpage using the <object> tag. This works well, but I'd like the image to be scaled to a certain fraction of the page's width. After all, the "S" in SVG stands for scaleable. But when I add a "width" attribute to the object tag, it just cuts off the embedded image rather than scaling it. I know SVG support is missing or buggy on most browsers, but I'd still like to experiment with it. I'm using Opera 9.20 on Linux. Unfortunately, Inkscape's command-line parameter --export-width isn't honored with the --export-plain-svg option; otherwise I'd just do some downscaling in my webpage-generating makefile. possible bug: page vertical resize changes coordinates

Hi there, I'm using Inkscape 0.45.1 under MacOSX. I have a problem when I resize a page vertically: the elements of the drawing move with the resize, because their distance remains fixed from the _top_ of the page, instead of from the bottom of the page. When a page is resized vertically, the height of the page changes. The bottom is the zero, so it remains fixed, and it is the top that moves. However, the coordinates of the elements of the drawing move with the top. I think this is not desirable: their coordinates are from the bottom of the page, so they should remain in the same position in respect to the bottom of the page. Unfortunately, this is not what happens. For example, if I align my drawing with the grid and then resize vertically, the elements are completely misaligned, because the grid remains fixed from the bottom of the page, but the elements don't. This does not happen when I resize a page horizontally. In that case, it is the right border that moves, but the elements of the drawing maintain their positions in respect to the left border, where the horizontal zero is. This is the desirable behaviour, IMO. I am thinking of filling a bug report, but I'm new to Inkscape. I want to be sure that I'm right and that this is indeed a bug and not a feature that was implemented for some reason that I don't understand. Can some one comment on this? Thanks, Paulo

Thanks for the clarification, this explains the behaviour. However, I think it is an error to implement things this way. Either stay with the other illustration programs' way (0 on the bottom left corner), or with the SVG way (0 on the top left corner), but don't mix both ways in one drawing. I would like to suggest this to the developers. Do you know how I can do that? Thanks, Paulo

Importing ps files.

A program Mup typesets music files. The output is true PostScript, not bitmaps.
