A few questions about colours

All, 1) I need to get the colour used in some text for other lines of text, but for some reason the eye dropper is not very efficient there. What do I do wrong? I sometimes workaround copying the text and then changing it, but using the same colour often means the font and size are different (still easier to find the right font than test the colours in the Palette). 2) When importing SVGs into Scribus, I often need the colours to be defined in the CMYK space. Does the colour space change automatically? In Scribus, you can define a colour in a colour space and then set it in RGB or CMYK or HSL... 3) Sometimes in a specific project it is needed to use a small set of colours (eg corporate look and feel). Is there a way to push a colour in a subset (small palette) in order to find it easily? 4) Also I need to grab colours from bitmap files which I import temporarily as background in order to build the shapes on top. How can I use the eye dropping tool to grab the colour on the bitmap? I do not seem to be able to do it (if there's a problem between the keyboard and the chair be merciful) At the moment I just keep my image editor open and take a mental note of the RGB hex value.... it's good for the neurones but is there another way? Additive color mixing of transparent objects?

Hi Can someone clarify the mixing of colors of transparent objects for me? Is it possible to use additive mixing of transparent objects. Im not sure if I use the correct terminology, but I mean like mixing colored light and not colored paint, so that a green transparent object overlaying a red one will be yellow and not brownish? Or do this exceed the SVG format? The mixing seem to be somewhere in between the two possibilites? Patterns from Inkscape into the GIMP

I've been creating "Patterns" in Inkscape, but when I open the SVG file in The GIMP, the patterns are not visible. I wondered if anyone knows why this is or if there is anything I should be doing to the pattern first, before trying to open in the GIMP. My aim is infact to turn my image into a JPG eventually, but I seem to lose quality if I export as Bitmap first.Any suggestions?Thanks, Anna

Bryce, I was wondering about something similar today regarding the calligraphy tool vs the other path tools (freehand and bezier). Proposal Community Local Inkscape

It would like to know the opinion of all, on the personalization of the Inkscape "local". To create local communities, To translate, To register and To divulge the Inkscape. Some details to stimulate the local production, "about.local.svg" is the competition for choice of local Splash[1]. I folloied the translation of Inkscape 0,45, I found not this very motivated. Also the local documentation. Here in Brazil we are solving this problem mounting the community www.InkscapeBrasil.org, with a local list of quarrel. create eps with embedded fonts

Hello, I have a SVG file created with adobe illustrator. This file has embedded fonts (svg format). Is it possible to create a eps file with embedded fonts with inkscape. When I try to save as eps and chooce embedded fonts inkscape crashs with a runtime exception. ciao

Modify clipping object without releasing the clip

Is it possible to modify a clipping or masking object without releasing it? I know how to edit the objects that are clipped/masked, just not the object that does clipping/masking.
