0.44pre2 on OS X: no more icon for SVG file type?

Hello all! I am using Inkscape on Mac OS 10.4.6 / Intel. Just installed 0.44pre2 over 0.44pre0 and saw that the SVG file icon is now set to the blank one, but Inkscape is still set as a default application for the SVG files. With all Inkscape versions it displayed Inkscape logo on the icon. I tried re-assigning Inkscape as a default application for SVG files, but that didn't help. Reverted to pre0, no luck, then to pre2, all the same. I tried assigning GIMP as a default app for SVG - now all SVG files have the GIMP logo. But reverting to Inkscape as a default app makes the icon blank again. Perhaps some icon is missing in the .app bundle. Connector: Arrow outside

Hello, is it possible to draw diagrams with the connector tool where the arrow is not centered but outside the rectangle. Can't get autpackage of .44

When I try to download the latest autopackage build, instead of starting up the download manager it tries to load into the browser window. This happens with both FireFox 1.5 and Opera 8.54. What am I doing wrong? -- No Sig

crappy image scaling

Is it a bug or a feature that inkscape can't upsample an embedded raster image? also if an image is rotated it doesn't get done very well (do the same rotation in the gimp and it will be nice and smooth) FYI batik handles upsampling and rotation nicely, although the build I'm using doesn't seem to antialias the edges of images :( Any idea when this will be implemented in inkscape? should i file a bug? Inkscape window too big under Linux

Hello, I've been using Inkscape on Windows for some time, and everything worked fine. Now that I've switched to Linux, I've noticed that the Inkscape window is bigger than my screen! Resizing doesn't help - it lets me expand the window all I want, but not compress it beyond the default size. Maximising doesn't help either - the window remains at exactly the same size. I'm working at an 800×600 resolution, both in Windows and in Linux. When switching to 1024×768 the problem vanishes. But I can't always work at that resolution - my poor little screen was not designed for such abuse, so I can't distinguish any details at 1024×768. What can I do about this problem? Trace Bitmap

Hi list, I was testing the trace bitmap and got really impressed. Of course it isn't a Corel Trace, but is the beginning. My congratulations to the dev team. NEEDED: Win32 User for testing

Hi all, If you are on Windows and and have a little extra time this week, you can help Inkscape out considerably. There are several _bad_ bugs that are going to afflict Windows users of our new Inkscape release, that we may have a decent chance to eliminate. However, unfortunately our developers don't have access to Win32 machines, so cannot easily test their fixes to make sure they've fixed the issues. If you are on Win32, and are comfortable installing and running extremely cutting edge stuff (including running gdb), you can help. We need someone who for the next week or two can install the latest code and test out a few bugs we're working on. This is a great way to contribute to Inkscape and to directly make it better for Windows users, so if you've wanted to do that but felt that your technical skills were a bit light, this may be a perfect opportunity. Email me if you're interested in helping, or contact Jon Cruz by email or IRC, to get started. Bryce

trace bitmap problem

Hi, I have Inkscape 0.44 and Inkscape 0.43 installed. ( winXP ) With 0.43 Trace Bitmap works very well, as expected. With 0.44 I never was able to trace a bitmap with the settings Multiple Scanning > Color, or > Monochrome. It seems to work, but never brings a result. Regards, Hago

The autopackage worked perfectly on Ubuntu Linux. It even put the icon in the Applications menu in GNOME.
