Hi everyone, this is a reminder that you can still submit a proposal for a talk, lightning talk, hackathon, Birds-of-a-feather meeting or workshop for this year's Libre Graphics Meeting. LGM will take place in Rennes (Brittany, France) from May 26-29 2020. The deadline for your submissions is February 17th. You might even talk about ideas you have but have not yet implemented. Part of Getting Things Done means sharing ideas and methods with each other and with artists." Inverting Parts of a black and white graphic

Hello, is there a good way to invert a black and white graphic in inkscape. As an example, take https://github.com/Bouni/MDT-Glas-Push-Button-Template/blob/master/MDT-Glas… and invert the upper or the lower graphic. I tried to add a layer and use exclusive-or with a black box overlay, but I it did not do at all what I was hoping for (xor between black and white). Inkscape 1.0-beta2 release

Hi everyone! We are quickly approaching the long-awaited 1.0 release of Inkscape, and to allow easier testing of the progress we've made with it, we just released a 1.0-beta2 version! You can get the release at https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.0beta2/ in the form of source tarball to compile, AppImage for Linux, and .dmg for macOS (windows soon). The most visible changes should be : - MacOS Catalina users should be able to manipulate files - More responsive interface (faster rendering) - Improved text rendering All testers are encouraged to test this version and report bugs at inkscape.org/report The release date for 1.0 is not set in stone yet, but if we don't get major bug reports I expect a release around the end of December. == Translators == Thanks for your work! Strings have been frozen for a while, and it's not too late to submit translations until release date. == Developers == We have now branched the code repo. Way to fit better in desktop dark themes

Hello, i use Debian, with Mate Desktop window manager, and i use a dark theme with it. In this theme, all large areas background are black or dark gray, or some other dark color. The colors for fonts, foreground and many symbols are very clear, and not necessarily pure white. Most programs fit this setup well, they just inherit the user GUI theme when they run; but some are made to have their own colors, instead of anyone's colors - but the best ones have, at least, two themes. Telegram (desktop version here, but both fit) is a program that has many themes for us to choose, mostly divided between dark and clear ones - mine is dark, as you could guess. But inkscape is a program that really makes my eyes hurt after a few minutes playing with it - unless i do an alternative counter measure. Look at the attached screenshot. It has an inkscape window maximized in my desktop, and a small project i did yesterday. This project is basically a surrounding line for some text. I used a big background rectangle *just to* keep the inkscape white background away from the screen. It seems there is no setting for that color! At least, i did not find. The black background rectangle worked yesterday. But what if i wanted to make a project with a considerable transparent area?? Still in the screenshot, we see the result of making that black rectangle 100% transparent. It becomes white! It is not white, but white is what we see for something transparent with nothing behind it. I want this "nothing color" to be black, not pure white! Or even better: to be configurable. What do you think? What should be the best paths for me to solve this issue with Inkscape?

Why this error is happening? Browser does not open correctly an SVG file which is fine in Inkscape

Hello, this is my first SVG file created from scratch in Inkscape. It has 6 layers just because i decided it should be good to keep some parts in separated layers to make final adjusts eventually easier. But after i finished, i opened the attached file in my browser, and it only shows the black rectangle and the skin line which borders the whole story. Why all the text does not appear there?

on-screen color palette

I recently downloaded Inkscape (windows version). It was running great, as I was watching the youtube videos how to use it. However, somewhere along the line, I must of hit and/or clicked on something by accident, because NOW the fill/stroke color palette along the bottom of my screen is NO LONGER displayed. What did I do and how do I undo my mistake in order to be able to select colors again? Your help and assistance is greatly needed & appreciated… Larry

Having an issue

I am having an issue, no matter what image I upload I follow the steps to trace bitmap save my trace delete the original and try to export as PNG choose a folder and name it and export then I get this pop up with a red circle with minus sign in it with the statement the chosen area to be exported is invalid. Now I can not use at all to convert. Please help the screen shot is below Thank you! gradient bug?

To reproduce: 1. Make multiple polygons, with different positions. 2. Select all of them. 3. Add a gradient. 4. Add a direct repeat to the gradient The repeat only appears in one of the polygons, although the non-repeating gradient appears in all polygons. The expected behaviour would be for the gradient to repeat in all the polygons. Sequentially deleting the gradients reveals that there is in fact a separate gradient for each polygon, although they all have identical co-ordinates. Examples attached. Hi, I am trying to use inkscape 0.48.5 with gcodetools extension. before using this inkscape version I installed 0.92 but I had problems saving in gcode and after reading some documentation I installed 0.48.5. on version 0.92 gcodetools, library you could choose the tool to use,depth,speed… with 0.48.5 I didn't manage to do that. for every assignment I would like to use tool,depth and spped can you help! Thanks
