Hi there. If I understand the problem correctly then you can align the centre of your path to the star nodes by first placing a node on the centre of the path by Effects > Modify Path > Add Node and then enter a value a bit larger than half the with of the path. For instance if the line is 400px long then enter a value of 210. Then only one extra node will be added and that to the centre. Then in Document properties define the Object Snapping to 'Snap node to objects' and 'Snap to object nodes' and deselect anything else including the grid snapping option. Now use the edit path node tool and select all the nodes of the line and drag the centre node to the polygon node. If you wanted the centre of the line to snap to the centre of a polygon vertex then repeat Add Node procedure. I think this should be simply, once you learn to draw a regular circle - which is, I believe, done by holding the CTRL key, as you drag the ellipse tool. problem / losing indent text lines Inkscape SVG

After working with Inkscape SVGs for a while, I've discovered another problem... this concerns the difference between (there shouldnt be one, that is) an original SVG with multiple text lines, and the saved version of this. I have an SVG with three lines of text, all produced with the text tool... .....This is line one / indented This is line two This is line three ...but... when I save this SVG, the first line loses the indented spaces LINE One now here This is line two This is line three I am thinking this has to do with all three lines being one object... in other words, Inkscape is just aligning all text to the left extreme, even though this isnt where I placed it. Anybody know how to fix this ? Black box instead of text

Hi, I tested to produce a simple SVG image with Inkscape with some text and then uploaded it to Wikipedia. However, in Wikipedia the text box is just a black rectangle with no text. Inkscape version is 0.45.1 The image can be viewed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Test1.svg where also the SVG file can be found. My question: where is the problem (ie black rectangle instead of text)? In Inkscape? In Wikipedia? In my browser (IE 7)? Klas

Monotype Corsiva - Inkscape for Windows

I run OpenOffice 2.1 and Inkscape 0.45 on my Windows XP system. Monotype Corsiva, which is installed on my system, does not show up in Inkscape as it does in OpenOffice Writer. I've enclosed PDFs from each program as examples. Is there some kind of font conversion I need to do before being able to use Monotype Corsiva with Inkscape? SVG and CSS

Hello, I have a drawing that is full of rectangles which share common attributes. Inkscape puts a style="..." attribute into each rectangle's tag, but it's the same thing repeated over and over. Is it possible to replace these style attributes with class attributes that refer to some style defined in an (inline) CSS? Essentially like CSS and HTML. I don't mind inserting the CSS manually into the SVG file with a text editor; my question is: Will Inkscape support/honor the CSS, and what's the syntax to put a CSS into an SVG file? Well, I guess I could just go and try it out, but I'd like to know if there is a proper and accepted way to do it. Thanks, --D.

I didn't know that worked between files opened from the same instance. That's good to know! Pasting between documents?

Bulia, would it be possible to include the ability to copy/paste between two Inkscape docs (open at the same time? Perhaps it could be implemented as a new copy/paste menu item.
