Inkscape and wacom

In case anyone was wondering, Wacom tablets do work with Inkscape if they are configured to act as regular pointing devices. It works "out of the box" with Apple's X server, but with XFree86 you will need to have the "SendCoreEvents" option turned on if you do not already. I believe it should just work on Windows also, though I have not tried it. Note that we do not support pressure/tilt sensitivity or any tablet-specific features yet. -mental

When I reboot into win98 my wacom works bad with windows Inkscape, it gets press/release signals maybe only 1/4 of the time, I have to press several times to register a click, and then press still more to release it. Hello there! Once again I must admit how happy I am to use Inkscape - it has become no. 1 application that I use - see the attachment if you need proof ;-) Here is the list of example sites created by me, that use graphics by Inkscape. http://artemio.net My home site. The interface has actually been drawn in sodipodi (as I didn't know about Inkscape when I was creating thisone), but the rest (the icons on the main page etc.) is all by Inkscape. http://artemiolabs.com My audio laboratory site. 100% Inkscape. http://lilija.com.ua (in Russian) The site of a florictic shop where my sister works. 100% Inkscape. Note: all images were cut and JPEG'd with the GIMP (you guessed). Also, you guys mentioned that we, the users, can send you the screenshots of how we use Inkscape? I think it would be nice if, for example, you create a page on your site with a screnshot showing Inkscape at work and the web site that uses these graphics. If you need such a thing - just tell me. Hello lists I yesterday discover Sodipodi fork, because Sodipodi not satisfy my necessaries. So, for the first time, developers, this is great and best vector editing tool for Linux. I hope this is just beginning, and that Linux will get sometghing like CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator. Great job, again. I today submit couple wishes to feature list. Just for the records. And, now I wish to ask, how I can get archive of inkscape-user list archive in mbox format? Can someone send it to me, or I can download it somewhere on net? TIA P.S. Thanks, Bryce. I have been using GIMP to attempt to export (convert) my image to a 256-color format. GIMP calls this "indexing" the image. It gives fairly good results, but the image edges are somewhat jagged (aliased) compared to the original, pre-export image. So far, GIMP has given the best results with its color indexing schemes and algorithms. Thanks for your help. I love InkScape and hope that the developers can incorporate an 8-bit PNG feature in future releases. PNG Export Format

Hello. Does InkScape support exporting to a PNG 8-bit file format (e.g. 256 colors)? If not, how can I save my SVG graphic to an 8-bit PNG file? I need this, since Internet Explorer cannot handle the alpha channel (transparency). I have already tried the utility pngquant, with poor results. I would appreciate any help from anyone.
