3D drawings

SVG seems to be primarily (completely?) oriented towards 2D. In the logo at http://www.thewheel.biz/, I faked 3D by cloning the ring and the star, and drawing the clones at a slight offset, in a different color. A drop shadow, in other words. Is there a better way to achieve a 3D look? --

Like Communism is a form of Socialism, but not all Socialist systems are Communist. There, mentioning Communism in the same paragraph should annoy the GPL fans! (I'm a GPL fan, by the way, but it isn't appropriate for doccumentation. Start with Inkscape - several questions

Dear readers of this list, I had a first look at Inkscape, and several questions occured to me on the first test: * Does Inkscape support palettes? Where can I "store" and save colours for further use? * Is the CMYK colour picker working in version 0.41? Here I can only use RGB. * How can I print the tutorials on A4 paper? The tutorials look very nice, but printing them the usual way does not work, and I dont like reading on screen. * The pointer position in the lower left corner - how can I have it using the same unit as used for the document (millimeters or point or other choices)? * What is "Inkscape SVG" as opposed to "Plain SVG" when saving a document? Export makes a shape solid

http://www.hibbs.me.uk/nnjj.svg is a tracing of a photo of my nieces. When I export it as a bitmap, the baby's lips come out as solid rather than outline. If I delete her big sister, she exports ok. Occasionally I get these really huge emails from this list that have nothing but garbage characters in them. color shapes

Hi, I have an open shape that I would like to fill with color.
