Inkboard Status

Will inkboard be included in the next release for all platforms?. It
was pulled out of the main branch some time ago and it's a little
unclear what is happening to it.

Bug Hunt Finished!

Today Inkscape achieved the 300 point Bug Hunt goal, thanks to work from
Bulia Byak, Johan Engelen, Gustav B, and others. The number of critical
bugs has dropped to 20. Due to these efforts, we are now ready to move
to the next phase of the release cycle.

We're almost halfway there! I notice that due in part to our bug
activity, Inkscape has gone up to rank #20 on SourceForge's most active
list.
Still, there are 30 level-9 critical bugs still open. I don't see any
that are absolute release killers, but the fewer of those left in
inkscape when we release, the better.

Bug confirmation needed

Hi all,
I've added two new categories 'NEEDS CONFIRMATION' and
'NEEDS CONFIRMATION ON SVN HEAD' to our bug tracker, and have begun
marking a few bugs that need this.
If you have a recent inkscape installation and are on either Win32 or
OSX, you can help greatly by seeing if you can recreate these bugs.
Please go to this page:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=93438&atid=604306
Search on Category = NEEDS CONFIRMATION ON SVN HEAD, and set the Group
to the platform you're on. Also look in Groups 'Any' or 'All
Platforms'.
Try to recreate the problem, and then please write in the comment
section if you could or could not reproduce the problem.
Some of these are very, very old bugs, so just having people confirm
that the bugs are no longer present would be extremely helpful in
enabling us to focus on bugs that really need our attention.

OK, now that looks like a problem in Inkscape.
I am using Inkscape 0.43 (Mar 9 2006) on Kubuntu 6.0.6 (Dapper). Inkscape
automatically creates the svg as follows:

Document properties

Hi there,
Im using Inkscape 0.44.1, built Sep 9, 2006 under windows xp.
When I try to access the document properties panel -> file -> document
properties, the panel does not show up.
Is this happening with someone else?

Yeah, that was kind of my backup plan. I just thought that it would be
nice to have a procedure which didn't rely of "manual accuracy", if you
know what I mean.
I've only just noticed that inkscape can be extended using python scripts.
I wonder whether inkscape exposes enough of an api to be able to script
this particular problem. Time for me to read up on inkscape effects...

Interesting idea - I've tried it out (with both "Snap nodes to
objects", "Snap to object paths" and "Always snap" enabled) but
(suprisingly) I still find it very difficult to pin new nodes
exactly on the intersection point...
