how to make prospective forms?

Hi there, I was wondering how to modify a square form like:left side 300px and right side 500px! pattern fill

Hi, I'm trying to draw some boxes with pattern fills similar to those we can find in Xfig. If I understood, we have to manually create a pattern by using the option "Objects to Pattern" and after apply to my boxes. The problem is that I'm having problems to create those patterns. Depending on the size of the boxes, the result is very different.... Has anybody tried to draw boxes with those patterns we can find in Xfig? Or know how to do this? (I'm using inkscape 0.44) Thanks, Marco

selecting rectangles making me crazy!

Hi, I'm a new user of Inkscape 0.44.1 as distributed with Debian Etch. I'm very impressed with the features it provides, but some basics are escaping me. I'm working with a postscript file, converted via pstoedit -pta original.ps output.svg I import output.svg into Inkscape with no problem, and the image displays the image and text labels exactly as it should. I need to mark up the image with transparent boxes. I draw the boxes using the rectangle tool. However, I when I try to reselect them it gets very weird. Clicking on a rectangle actually selects a different rectangle, lower on the image than where the mouse is pointing. The other rectangle has a dotted outline (bounding box?) that is many times bigger than the rectangle itself. I managed to fix this before by playing with the snapping options in document properties, but I am not able to repeat that early success. When I open the shapes tutorial I can draw and select boxes normally, and the dotted outlines appear to (almost) exactly match the outline of the rectangles themselves. Please, what am I doing wrong? This is very frustrating, and I'm sure it's something really simple that I'm missing. -- Regards, Tyler Smith

Tablet Tricks?

I got myself a new Tablet and have been playing with it in Inkscape. I really like the calligraphy tool but I think I need practice with the sculpting tool. I wonder what other tricks Inkscape might have for tablets, or even just techniques people have found useful. It would be nice to be able to tune a shape without individually selecting nodes. I imagine something similiar to Photoshops blur tool to manipulate a shape, which might sound like the sculpt tool but is different because it would be indipendent of the nodes. Yeah, I'll do whatever I can. I haven't done any work with linux. Been meaning to install ubuntu one of these days but haven't had a reason. I was wondering if it was still a problem in linux as the wacom driver is different. Of course it may still be a problem, I don't know exactly how these things work.
