Just a little question: Would it be possible to set the Reply-To field to "inkscape-user(a)lists.sourceforge.net" instead of to the person that wrote to the list? Just go to here: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/admin/inkscape-user and put in the admin password. Then under "Where are replies to list messages directed?" you can set it to "This list." It does however say that "Poster is _strongly_ recommended for most lists," could anyone explain that to me? It talks about reply to munging... I guess that could be an issue? Hi, I found bug: when I import png image 726x88 px, in Inkscape it has 580x70pt. Mean pt pixels? Is there any chance to modify image size with transoform panel to exact size with constrained ratio? michalz

Inkscape Users, I had a few more beginners questions. #1 - If I have drawn to overlapping shapes, is there a way to combine them into one shape? #2 - When I drew a circle or ellipse it had a dark black border. Can you change the color of this border? #3 - When I try to apply a gradient fill to a shape, the color changes to shades of black, grey, and white. Is there something I need to change to apply gradient fills in color? #4 - Is there a way to change the rotation angle of text? Thanks for any suggestions. I appreciate any help. Hello list, I have 0.37 installed on both Fedora Core 1 and Windows 2k. I have attempted to print the keycode file (under Help) but both platforms only print partial pages. Hi, I've been a heavy Xara user until recently. Now I do about half of my design work in Inkscape. It cannot yet do everything that Xara can, but what it can do, it does in a much more usable and flexible way. One example is the complete and precise (pixel-by-pixel) keyboard control for scaling, rotating, and now kerning and letterspacing. I feel pain now when I use Xara and have to constatntly switch from keys to mouse and back. Hi to all, I've been monitoring Inkscape since I know it. I tried to use sodipodi, but inkscape has boolean ops sooner and have nicer enviroment like panel within work window. I have a few questions: Are you planning to implement masking of vector/bitmap objects? And partial kde-integration (file dialogs)? Gtk file-dialogs are terrible. Michalz

Inkscape Users, I just downloaded Inkscape today. It looks like a really slick program, but I had a couple of questions. (1) How do I snap the vertex of one line to the vertex of another line? (2) Do you set the color of a line in the fill/strokes dialog? (I seem to create a polygon when I try to add color to a line, and can only use black and white with the linear or radial gradient fills.) (3) How do you snap a vertex to a grid? Call For Clipartists

With Myrk's nifty ribbon.svg submission and Simarilius' SVG Signs contribution this morning, we're now officially ready to receive SVG clipart collections for Inkscape. Clipart is extremely important for users of vector art programs, because it can save a lot of time when making certain kinds of drawings, and to provide examples users can start with when making their own creations. I think it'd be most effective (and fun) to leave this process fairly open ended and flexible, since that's how we like to do things in this project. What we plan to do is treat each clipart "collection" as it's own discrete package, that is welcome to set its own rules and conventions as its contributors see fit. We'll distribute a few with Inkscape itself, others can be provided as separate add-ins. So, if you want you can establish your own collection of just your own work, or can collaborate with other users for a group effort. You can set up some organization and standards for quality control or to maintain a theme, or leave it freeform. Whatever works best for you.
