Any reason why Inkscape's "precision setting" option limits "significant figures" instead of "decimal places"? Placing a limit on "significant figures" forces arbitrarily higher precision for coordinates near the origin of the drawing. Precision drops logarithmically (in discrete jumps) as the coordinates move away from the origin. E.g. Consider the following horizontal path created with a numeric precision of "8". d="M 0.17036585,0 243.56794,0 507.68921,0 801.52616,0 1128.1785,0" Note how the first coordinate has eight decimal places while the last coordinate has four decimal places. The extra precision on the lower valued coordinates leads to necessary file bloat. When a drawing has thousands of points this bloat becomes significant. I would prefer it if inkscape could let me create paths where each coordinate had a set number of decimal places like this: d="M 0.1704,0 243.5679,0 507.6892,0 801.5262,0 1128.1785,0" -crjw

Font size in the Latex Export

Hi, I wonder if it is possible to change the fontsize for the LaTeX export, e.g. to small, for all Latex inputs in the drawing. Maybe there is a python script which generates the Latex code and where I could add a \small Latex command. Thank you in advance for your answers.

how to query for document size from command line

Hi, Is there a command line option in inkscape that returns width and height of document's page? The closest I found is: inkscape --query-width picture.svg inkscape --query-height picture.svg but this returns width/height of drawing (which might be smaller/bigger than actual page). I know that <svg> tag in svg file has width/height attribute so I guess there should be appropriate inkscape query for that. Thanks Marcin

Official Inkscape PPAs

Hey All, I just wanted to tell everyone about the creation of two PPAs that we created for Ubuntu users. New Measurement Tool in Inkscape

Hello, I'd like to let you all know that I have been working on a new tool for measuring objects in Inkscape. Here is a screencast of the tool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZKnxTO11xE But if you checkout the development code from Bazaar , then you'll see some new things that were implemented in the tool after recording the screencast (i.e. the tool now displays angle info also). Hi all, I'm using Inkscape to Latex and I would like to change the font size (e.g. to small) inside the picture environment that is created. Therefore I have to edit the script (I have already done this under 0.47 + extension Inkscape to Latex). Unfortunately, I can't find the script in 0.48. Could anyone help me to locate the this script? Thanks in advance.

I would love to see a submission process similar to that for clipart.org in the file menu for the dA group. I create stuff every day in Inkscape, and if I could get it onto dA easier, and ping the admin for the group at the same time, total win. j.

CD of Inkscape-drawn Comics

I hope this isn't considered too spammy for the list - apologies in advance if it is. We're creating a CD-ROM containing all the strips from the first two years of our webcomic. They're all drawn in Inkscape, and the CD not only has the PNG versions, but also the Inkscape source files. That's 57 Inkscape files - or over 70 if you include the translated versions which are included (courtesy of inkscapeforum.it). There are loads of extras as well - commentaries, an interview, early sketches and more. We're taking pre-orders for the CD at £3 each (about $5 US), including worldwide delivery, and would love to see some end up in the hands of Inkscape users who might actually stand a chance of finding a few of the Easter Eggs that we hide in each strip.
