Help with Color Effects - Grayscale etc

Hi All, I have installed the new version of Inkscape and am having problems using the color conversion effects. If I open a bitmap image and choose - effects - color and any one of the color effects such as grayscale, python launches and nothing happens. Any suggestions? Can't get email confirmation from Inkscape Wiki

Can anyone help with the following? I started an account on the Inkscape wiki but it won't send me the confirmation email. I've tried four times to get the email.

Gradient -> PDF?

Hello, If I save a PDF of a gradient filled circle, the gradient looks perfect in Linux Acrobat Reader (7.x IIRC) but in a more recent version of Acrobat Reader (8.1.0) on OS X and Apple's Preview.app, the gradient is a solid color. Does this occur in Windows versions of Acrobat Reader as well? Is there any solution to this other than resorting to a different filetype (e.g. bitmap)? Thanks, -TAG Todd A. Gibson

Bezier Connectors

Using filter effects

I was wondering how are you supposed to use the filter effects? Compiling-Problem

Hi there, I tried to download and install the SVN version of Inkscape. After downloading and running autogen.sh, I started configure and got the error: ./configure: line 12242: syntax error near unexpected token `XFT,' ./configure: line 12242: ` PKG_CHECK_MODULES(XFT, xft, xft_ok=yes, xft_ok=no)' It's OpenSuse 10.2 Thank you very much for any hint! integrating new fonts in inkscape?

hi we have a great chance to use inkscape as a batch conversion tool to create eps from svg. unfortunately we use fonts in these svg's that does not seem to be supported by inkscape. is there any chance to (let) integrate new fonts in inkscape? inkscape does not seem to correctly display and use all fonts. background: we're generating thousends of svg files from an xslt process. for a proper publishing we need to add bounding box information to these svg or eps image files. inkscape seems to be the best solution we've found for a task like that. it should create eps or svg with correct bounding boxes around the images. the images contain only two lines of (very) short text. the fonts we're using are a bit exotical. any help is very appreciated. frank
