delete several guides at the same time

hello all, just updated to the last build. works fine. Let me ask, is there a way to delete several guidelines at the same time? Sometime I use a lot of guides, and then I have to drag them one by one to the ruler.. Other thing, I would be really nice if in the dialog at the bottom left, where there is the color of the fill/stroke etc, we could see the grey values as they appear in the color bar. bugs in build 19 aug

Hello. using the build of 19 Aug on an Ubuntu malchine. I found that I cannot import anything. I tried with SVG and TIFF, and I always get the "inkscape encountered and internal error and will close now" Also there are times I cannot copy from one draw and paste in another. I have two inkscape windows, side by side, I copy (or cut) something from one and when I try to paste into the other draw, I get "Nothing in clipboard"... weird... Looking for help with a script

Hi, I am using Inkscape to create some tea caddy labels. Typically, the process involves a few steps. Since the process is highly repetitive, I am wondering if it is possible to script the processes that minimizes my intervention. I am no computer wiz, and could use help from some one who is. If so, please email me, and we will work on this together. We could then document and release the script as a tutorial for others to use. So, here are the steps... 1. Open one of the three templates 2. Modify the text in the template, and save the file as new label. 3. Export file as png (check examples http://www.jayateas.com/images/badamtamteabaglabel.png http://www.jayateas.com/images/badamtamloosetealabel.png ) 4. Open new 8.5x11 document, and import png file 5. Resize png import, and place accurately using x and y values 6. Tiled Clone to create a row of three (some x & y shift values need to be changed) 7. Tiled clone to duplicate the row to 10 rows (some x & y shift values need to be changed) 8. Save as a new file. check example - http://www.jayateas.com/images/badamtamloosetealabelsheet.png 9. Hi David, I had a discussion a few months back re SVG features with Chris, who works on W3C SVG, on colour space and how these features are implemented in Inkscape. To make a long story short, it seems that CMYK colours are perfectly supported by SVG standards but that Inkscape only encodes colours as RGB. (apart from the fact that you can use a CMYK interface to input them) . Thus resulting in the following situation: Inkscape allows you to input CMYK values to pick a colour but saves the SVG file with RGB, although SVG does support CMYK colours. My advice is the following workaround : create your SVG, import it in Scribus, in Scribus, redefine your colours as CMYK and save as EPS (remove unused colours). Fortunately for logos you should have very few colours. It is a somewhat tedious workaround but the one I picked as it is reliable. Hi all don't know if this feature is planned or even already implemented in snv. There is one feature of CorelDraw I haven't see anywhere else. When you click an object and then you can transform it, change the width, for instance. If you hold CRTL while doing it, it will cause the object to be moved or scaled, in amounts equal to its size, so you can use it to mirror the object or to place a duplicate aligned to the original one, without the need of additional actions. the problem is that in Inkscape, if you drag the diagonal modifiers, you need to hold shift to make it changes proportionally, while this is the default action for Corel. So maybe it would need to hold two keys, or use some other key (like Alt).. don't know if I made myself clear, but it's a feature worth having. exporting slices as boxes

Hi! I've made some graphics for web pages with inkscape, but I find hard to export certain areas. For example, I have a Box, a rounded corener one, that should be exported in three vertical slices, the middle one, will be repeated as a background latter. The point is I make a rectagle surrounding the area I want to export, then, I lower transparency to 0%, so the box won't be exported, but the drawing inside its area (this box has no stroke). Then when I want to select this "ghost" box, it's gone! If I select an area that contains the box, there it is, but, no simle way to select just _that_ box. Any suggestion? I think that maybe the search box may help, but I don't undesrtand how it works. Thanks in advance. Nahuel

Wow... does that mean that at some point in the future a SVG file imported in Scribus will import a colour in the CMYK space? If so big thanks to all involved in this. Compiling on Win32

Oops.... who woulda thought 'send' had a keyboard shortcut? Here is my complete question.... I followed the directions from JonY to compile the SVN on Win32 (I know I don't really need to as the new win builds are perfect but I enjoy the challenge) and I keep hitting the same problem. When I run 'g++ buildtool.cpp -o btool' I get a string of errors starting with - buildtool.cpp:53:18: error: string: No such file or directory buildtool.cpp:54:15: error: map: No such file or directory buildtool.cpp:55:15: error: set: No such file or directory buildtool.cpp:56:18: error: vector: No such file or directory followed by a lot more that seem to be related to these initial errors. I found the files in question in C:\mingw4\include\c++\4.2.0 but I have no idea how to make g++ see them. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks, Tony

Letterspacing Keycommands under Linux

I've spent a full day trying to figure out why the letter-spacing and line-height commands (Alt+<, Alt+>) are not working under Linux. I'm running OpenSuSE 10.2, with Inkscape 0.45.1, but no matter what I do, the only thing Alt+< does is put commas and periods in my text. I tried the text section Inkscape Advanced tutorial. Manual kerning shortcuts work (Alt+arrows), but letter-spacing (Alt+<, Alt+>) and line height (Control+Alt+<, Control+Alt+>) do not work, it only places commas or periods, as if the shortcut didn't exist. Outside of text edit mode, Alt+< and Alt+> perform a uniform scaling. I've already changed my GNOME Keybindings away from using ALT as a modifier (it was conflicting with Maya). I've checked the default.xml keys file and I don't see any mention of an action for letterspacing/line height, so it doesn't seem like I can change it. And I tested 0.45.1 under Windows and the commands work perfectly fine. I'm thinking it could be the build, but I doubt it - it was installed via the autopackage from the Inkscape website. I would gladly appreciate some help on this situation! Thank you!

broken perspective effect

I have just formatted my computer and reloaded opensuse 10.2. I have everything put back together and that includes Inkscape v0.45-1 (inkscape-0.45.1-2.guru.suse102.rpm). However, I have run into a brick wall with the perspective effect. It seems a long time ago I had a similar problem but I cannot for the life of me figure out what I did to fix it. Not even sure if it's the same error. I have attached a pic of the error that I am getting. I have python-numeric-24.2-36 and python-numpy-1.0.3.1-0.pm.1 installed. An 'rpm -q python' results with python-2.5-19.4 if that helps. Hmm... heathenx
