Path > Object to Path; Extensions > Visualise Path > Measure Path > Area - Not giving correct result

People, If I draw a rectangle to fit an A4 page and then: Path > Object to Path Extensions > Visualise Path > Measure Path > Area with a Scale Factor of 1 and output in m, I should get a result of about 0.06 instead I get about 0.0003 . . Problem with super and sub scripts

I am a new new user of Inkscape and am having trouble getting super and sub scripts in my text. When in text mode, highlighting text and clicking the super or sub script icon all text in the text box to dissapear. If I click the icon a second time the text reappears but at an extremely large font size of over 30,and still no super- or subscript. I am using windows 7 home on one computer and windows 7 pro on another and both give the same results with Inkscape versions .48 and .92. Has anyone else seen this problem? I can get the super or sub scripts by manually moving the letter up or down but it takes a bit longer. If anyone has a solution to this, even an operator error solution would be very welcome. Hello, I have installed the newest version of inkscape into my macbook using the dmg file. Installed inkscape runs fine, but I am unable to perform spellcheck for a text. In preferences it shows that there is no dictionary installed (screenshot attached). Could someone tell how to install En dictionary for inkscape, please? Best, Marijonas

Anyone hyphenating?

Dear fellow Inkscapists, looking for hyphenation in Inkscape, I found an extension for that - and the discussion that followed: http://inkscape.13.x6.nabble.com/Hyphenation-in-Inkscape-td2852535.html That was very interesting, even if the result seemed to be that hyphenation could not work this way for languages that require displaying a hyphen character. Just wondering, has anyone in the meanwhile hacked together their own solution that works for English? All the best, Christoph

Brynn - I saw your reply on my phone, but when I downloaded to Thunderbird Gmail ate it .... Anyways the color palette is the material design color palette. Seems you have color managment enabled and this change your colors, you need to fit it ok or disable. Cheers, Jabier. Colours shown differently after using palette?

Hi everyone, writing to the list since now that the Launchpad presence is discontinued, I couldn't find a "questions" section on Gitlab... I'm new to using swatches/palettes, so I assume I'm doing something wrong. I have a file, looking at the top layer (normal blend mode, all others invisible). Since I started using a certain swatch, all the colours, including those in the palette, are more dull - in the attached image compare the Fill field to the rectangle... This persists through closing and re-opening. What did I mess up? Best, Chris

[Manual]: Beginners' Guide Status

Hi to all of you who are interested in the Beginners' Guide! I'd like to give you another status update about our progress on the book: What happened since the last status update? ------------------------------------------- - JP read over the first section, from a user perspective (and found no grave issues with it! :D) - Sergio joined the team, by commenting on an issue at gitlab. He will help in checking for hurdles for beginning Inkscape users, from a non-native speaker point-of-view, and (I hope) also with consistency checking. He has already made a good start, finding some inconsistencies and bugs within the second section of the book. - brynn proofread the largest part of the second section, to make sure it's using proper English! - Elisa, while in Paris at the Inkscape Hackfest that is currently going on (see also: https://inkscape.org/en/news/2017/06/06/hackfest-2017-paris/), had a go at separating single images and adding lots of new ones! - Jabier brushed up the CSS a bit, and tested export options :) See below for a link to the latest pdf, with some splashes of color! - I have updated screenshots and uploaded images with translated file names for section 1 and 2, and am currently working my way through the pictures in section 3 of the book. What can you help with at this stage? ------------------------------------- We need proof-readers, the more the merrier! The only requirements are that you need to be a native speaker of English and need to have a basic knowledge in Inkscape usage. We also need someone who can help with the book layouting, if possible with some experience in preparing books for print and/or screen and some knowledge of CSS. There's a lot of room for creativity here :) And last but not least, the book needs consistency checkers, who make sure that things fit together throughout the book, and that the terms used match those in the Inkscape glossary. This is really important, so the book will look like 'one piece', even though it's being worked on by different people.
