New Team Icons: Highlight

Dear Developers and Users, I have been working with Tim Jones to develop some new icons for the website. I wanted the icons to have a theme and to carry a bit of identity for the teams they represent. So we went with hats. See the lovely icons in-situ here: https://inkscape.org/en/teams/ Showing off the art is actually not just what I want to communicate. Firstly I want to thank Tim, because they have been awesome to work with and very productive with the brief. I highly recommend. I approached Tim because he'd produced a piece of artwork with Inkscape and submitted it to our website (inkscape.org). The way we can host a small portion of our user's work on the website, is really something great for our community. Firstly because it shows us what great things can be done with the software, but also because it humbles us developers to know that our code is helping make such amazing work. Getting new collaborators into a project is hard. Getting non- programmer contributions is harder still. But the way our website can highlight non-developer aspects of our community; gifts us an opportunity to expand the reaches of the contributing population, to bring in new people and help them contribute in whatever small way they can. If you find yourself browsing the website, and you get an idea about how we might make the user community even better through improvements to the how the website works. I want you to let me know. Path > Object to Path; Extensions > Visualise Path > Measure Path > Area - Not giving correct result

People, If I draw a rectangle to fit an A4 page and then: Path > Object to Path Extensions > Visualise Path > Measure Path > Area with a Scale Factor of 1 and output in m, I should get a result of about 0.06 instead I get about 0.0003 . . Problem with super and sub scripts

I am a new new user of Inkscape and am having trouble getting super and sub scripts in my text. When in text mode, highlighting text and clicking the super or sub script icon all text in the text box to dissapear. If I click the icon a second time the text reappears but at an extremely large font size of over 30,and still no super- or subscript. I am using windows 7 home on one computer and windows 7 pro on another and both give the same results with Inkscape versions .48 and .92. Has anyone else seen this problem? I can get the super or sub scripts by manually moving the letter up or down but it takes a bit longer. If anyone has a solution to this, even an operator error solution would be very welcome. Hello, I have installed the newest version of inkscape into my macbook using the dmg file. Installed inkscape runs fine, but I am unable to perform spellcheck for a text. In preferences it shows that there is no dictionary installed (screenshot attached). Could someone tell how to install En dictionary for inkscape, please? Best, Marijonas

Anyone hyphenating?

Dear fellow Inkscapists, looking for hyphenation in Inkscape, I found an extension for that - and the discussion that followed: http://inkscape.13.x6.nabble.com/Hyphenation-in-Inkscape-td2852535.html That was very interesting, even if the result seemed to be that hyphenation could not work this way for languages that require displaying a hyphen character. Just wondering, has anyone in the meanwhile hacked together their own solution that works for English? All the best, Christoph

Material Design Color Palette

Brynn - I saw your reply on my phone, but when I downloaded to Thunderbird Gmail ate it .... Anyways the color palette is the material design color palette. Seems you have color managment enabled and this change your colors, you need to fit it ok or disable. Cheers, Jabier.
