hi there, I'm looking for software to help me designing CD labels, and so I tried a variety of tools, all raster based. It strikes me that a vector-drawing editor would be a better fit (IMO), and so I wonder whether inkscape has support for this kind of thing. I believe all that is required is a way to import document templates that provide the 'frame' for users to draw into. Is that true ? If so, the 'glabels' application comes with an impressive set of templates (in xml) which could probably be converted to something inkscape can use. Would that be an option ? Regards, Stefan

Importing a logo to Inkscape

Hi I need to import two logos for a work I'm doing in inkscape. One of them is eps, tiff or jpeg. As I need quality for A3 paper, I needed eps. Inkscape does not load eps. pstoedit does not export to svg (the plugin fails). Ideas? THe other is in FreeHand. I managed to convert to Illustrator, but ImageMgick convert also don't convert it at all. Ideas? THanks. Cheers -- Alberto Simões

File->Inkscape Prefs.->Misc tab. On a related note. When I import a picture (tried PNG and BMP) the image size says the correct resolution but the selection size is too small. color of arrow-head

Can't you tell in Inkscape Preferences to scale as 300dpi and not 72? Haven't tried it since everything I did was 72. When you say that it is a bit fiddly to scale it back to the correct size... have you done it numerically? Such as right-clicking on the image and going into 'image properties' and modifying the width and height that way? embedding SVG in (X)HTML

Hello, I'd like to embed some SVGs in XHTML. I'd use the object-Element of (X)HTML for that task. I'd like to scale the SVG to fit the dimensions given by the object-element via its width- and height-attributes. Is that possible? What would I have to add to my svg-file or to my html? best regards Steffen

centering diagonal line points

I've been working some with inkscape some and I have a problem I'm not sure how to solve. Let me draw a simple diagram: +----------+ | Box 1 | +----------+ / / +----------+ | Box 2 | +----------+ Is there a way I can exactly line up the end of those points to the center of each box? The top point of the line to the middle of Box 1 and the bottom point to the middle of Box 2. I didn't know if there was a good way to do this. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

Changing language in inkscape

I have installed inkscape on my PC located in Sweden, running winXP Eng Pro. However some menue items are in swedish and some in english. I prefer having all in english.
