Trying to create a rubber stamp effect

Hi, I have found this tuto about creating a rubber stamp effect: http://howto.nicubunu.ro/rubber_stamp_inkscape/ It says I should do an intersection between the image and the calligraphic drawing, but for me it doesn't work.., I mean, Inkscape doesn't do any intersection..Of course I select both objects before trying the intersection. Importing graphs from Excel

Hello list, for an article I need to edit a graph made in Excel (2007). This is my current workflow: 1. In Excel: Print to PDF (using Cute PDF) 2. Open the PDF file in Inkscape The big caveat is: text items don't behave well at all. They are really naughty :p -> when changing fonts or size, the spacing doesn't adapt (so text gets squashed when a bigger font is chosen) -> certain text elements that don't belong together, all of the sudden become one item (f.e. the scale items and the R² text, but the ² is a different text block) Currently, the only solution I see, is retyping all the text manually. Obviously, this is quite a waste of time. I hope some of you know a better solution for this... Thanks, Jurgen.

Dissolve surrounded colors of a cropped image with the background

Hi, I have two layers: a background in yellow and a cropped image in the other layer. Now I want to dissolve the cropped image in the background, how can i do that automatically? I know I have the smudge tool, but the results are not so good for me... http://postimg.org/image/c433e336d/ 2.8.2

I bought the book "Inkscape 0.48 Essentials for Web Designers." Unfortunately the boook is light on worked examples. Does anyone here care to post the url of a site using Inkscape, either for main pages or for embedded svg images in an html page? Incidentally Chapter 23 of Tavmong Bah's manual has more useful infomration on this subject then the entire book that I bought, referenced in the first sentence. Live and learn.
