[OS X] X11 clipboard vs. OS X pasteboard

X11 (Xquartz) v.2.3.x has several preferences to sync between OS X Pasteboard and X11 CLIPBOARD and PRIMARY buffers. While testing 0.46+devel rev21339 I noticed that in Inkscape copying/pasting to/from the clipboard always resulted in bitmaps with all vector information lost (no Paste Style, Paste Size possible) - restoring default Inkscape preferences didn't help. It seems that the X11 preference 'Update Pasteboard when CLIPBOARD changes' somehow prevents Inkscape from keeping vector information in the clipboard even when ^C/^V objects/shapes in one drawing or between 2 windows. Unchecking said option in X11 disables clipboard xfer from Inkscape to native OS X applications and restores full Inkscape functionality. Can someone verify on a updated system (10.5.6 with X11 2.3.2 or 10.5.7 with X11 2.3.3) if the 'out-of-the-box' installation disables Inkscapes native clipboard functions? I could not find related infos in Inkscape Wiki or launchpad answers/bugs.

Openclipart.org import defaults to png

Why is it that when an entry on openclipart.org has both png and svg versions, Inkscape imports the png? Shouldn't it import the svg by default if there is more than one choice? RQ

Hi there! I've got news. Gustavo Petro <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustavo_Petro> is a candidate running for presidential elections in Colombia. His campaign is preparing a different, innovative, ludic, alternative campaign. An artist is in charge of his campaign advertising but they've called volunteers to design the official poster. Please check this draft version<http://www.colombiasinguerra.com/profiles/blogs/con-gustavo-petro-acordemos…>someone here made and give opinions. I think it is raw tracing, something better could be done. It would be great to have it designed in Inkscape but I'm not that skilled. I'm summoning your skills!

Hi everyone! Time for a bit of an update on where things are at with the upcoming release! Here's some quick points... others may have more to add in reply. 1. We are gathering user stories to help show the world how we use Inkscape and why we love it! This will help us bring life to the press release announcements... much more interesting to read what real people thinkm rather than some dull press release! http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/UserStories047 Add your story now! :) You can also help out by blogging about Inkscape and using twitter and identi.ca to spread the word! Woah!!! I just had a look at the about screen contest (http://inkscapers.deviantart.com/journal/24582792) and.... WOAAAAAHHHH... It is absolutely amazing what people have made. There are many many many drawings that I like. Great work all of you who submitted something!! (It's cool that quite a few people tried to visualize "refactoring" too.) Cheers, Johan

Hi there - I've just downloaded Inkscape version 0.46 for the first time. The file was a universal binary file; however, when I tried to open it, my computer showed me the message "You cannot use the Application 'Inkscape' with this version of OSX." Am I missing something basic here about the program's compatabilities? Jeff
