Hey All, The submission portion of the contest has concluded and it is now time to vote. Things have been simplified this go 'round. Woah!!! I just had a look at the about screen contest (http://inkscapers.deviantart.com/journal/24582792) and.... WOAAAAAHHHH... It is absolutely amazing what people have made. There are many many many drawings that I like. Great work all of you who submitted something!! (It's cool that quite a few people tried to visualize "refactoring" too.) Cheers, Johan

Hi there - I've just downloaded Inkscape version 0.46 for the first time. The file was a universal binary file; however, when I tried to open it, my computer showed me the message "You cannot use the Application 'Inkscape' with this version of OSX." Am I missing something basic here about the program's compatabilities? Jeff

character deleted ofter applying 'Difference'

Hello, I am trying to get some text to fit within a cone, sort of a 'sand-clock' where each letter gradually gets smaller to a point and then it increases. I do this: 1) select the text 2) Path -> Object to Path (Shift+CTRL+C) 3) Path -> Break Apart (Shift+CTRL_K) Then for each charecter with hole in them select the interior and the exterior and apply Difference. Here is the problem, on some characters such as CAPITAL 'A' or LOWERCASE 'p' when I select it and apply the Difference (CTRL+-) the character is deleted. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Norman

Hi , I kinda managed to make the SVG font editor do something, I believe it is not quite finished yet, or maybe it wasn't working on my build/Os combination. I used rev21271 from May 1st, on Windows XP. 1) Draw something which looks like (for example) a capital A with the bezier tool 2) Select it (it is in its bounding box after drawing anyway) 3) Menu : Text / Svg font editor 4) Click on "new" at the bottom of the "font" column to start editing a new font (you can rename it) 5) Tab Global setting : I suppose it needs a font family here (but I know nothing about fonts) 6) Tab Glyphs : Click "from selection" at the top (your selected shape) It draws the shape as a preview at the bottom of the tab. You then click on the first row below "glyph / Unicode" Enter: A and U0041 respectively in the row Now type in the "sample text" a Capital A, you should see a preview of your shape And I'm stuck here :-) I was expecting the font to show in the list of my fonts, or to be able to select it in the "Text and Font" menu, but it didn't show, so I believe the interface is not finished yet (there is also no way to "save" the font...)
