There has been a printing issue for a long time with inkscape 0.46 and so I have not been able to use it and have to go back to version 0.45 which has been very frustrating. I print out large banner size items and 0.46 does not print properly at all. "Fragment" Operation

Is there any way to perform a "fragment" operation in inkscape? Specifically, if you have multiple overlapping shapes, they all cut each other where they cross. For example, for two overlapping circles, you would end up with two crescents and a lens shape filling the space between. It is relatively easy to do this for two shapes (Duplicate, and perform an intersection, then on the original perform an exclusion followed by a break apart) but for a larger number of shapes the operations grow exponentially. add fake transpareny without real transparency

Hello, I have a small problem with inkscape 0.46: I have object1 that is above object2. Object1 has some kind of transparency since object2 should also seen through this transparency. This does work well in inkscape and the pdf output (via cairo) is also well. But only adobe reader and foxit reader seem to support pdf transparency, all the poppler based readers like okular, evince, sumatrapdf do not show the transparency. Thus, it is not a problem of inkscape but (maybe) poppler. My question: Is there a possibility to make inkscape to render a kind of fake transparency (that looks the same as real transpareny with an alpha channel) but that has no alpha channel (adjusting the other color channels of course). So, the exported pdf (or eps/ps that do not support transparency at all) could have the fake transparency. Kind regards, Martin Bretschneider

Hey All, Volunteers needed! Do you want to contribute to Inkscape but don't program? We can still use your help! We need volunteers for the following tasks: Testing SVN/Nightly Build (windows and osx especially) Reviewing and triaging Bug Reports Updating Tutorials & Documentation Reviewing Release Notes for accuracy/completion Writing PR/Announcements for our upcoming release Those are needs we always really have, but, we can always use an extra hand in the lead-up to release. Right now, if we could have a lot of attention put on our bug tracker for confirming bugs, figuring out what has been fixed, tagging things, and just getting it in better shape for the bug hunt, it will make a world of difference to the people trying to fix things. If anyone is interested in participating, please feel free to reply, hop on irc/jabber to discuss, or just jump right to it. :) If you need any information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Problem with wiki

I think I might have just seen a hidden problem with the wiki. I went to update a page on our versions, and saw contents for our release notes instead. http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Tracking_Dependencies The history listed things as expected, with the time of the last edit corresponding to the time I updated a table on that page. However, the contents were from that other page. Our servers were down for a bit the other day, so it is possible that something got corrupted. Could all of you take a quick moment to skim things and see if any pages are holding the wrong information? Thanks
