Tango icons as default set.

Since the Tango icon set for inkscape seems to be pretty complete and revised, I'd like to propose making it the default set in SVN (of course mantaining the current set as an alternative for people who preferes it). I know it is already possible to test the set easily, but I think that making it the default set will force users (of the development versions) to test it and will be a good opportunity to see if the general consensus is to leave it or roll back to the current set. It may be helpful to discover some bugs, too. What do you think?

Don't quite understand tweak tool

Inkscape users, I've recently discovered the the tweak tool, and it's been a real help in shaping objects and pen strokes. However, it has a side effect I can't quite understand. If I'm working on one end of an object, the vertices on the other end of the object will get shifted and move around to undesired positions. It seems like the Tweak tool is trying to preserve the volume of the shape, so if I pull the bottom side down, the top side will also shift down somewhat. I looked up information about the Tweak tool on the web, and it seemed that the "Fidelity" setting was the one that controlled the overall influence over the shape. But, despite what I've read, whether I set it to 0 or to 100, I still get this overall distorting of the shape. Ideally, I want to just move around vertices within the area defined by the size of the brush, or immediately adjacent. I don't want to see influence over the whole object. Is there a way I can contain the Tweak tool to localize it's influence more? I hope my descriptions and questions are clear. Any advice would be much appreciated. -- Dave M G

Copying or Duplicating Selected Nodes

Hi, Is is possible to copy or duplicate selected nodes and not the whole object-path? Sometimes I only want part of a path copied. To do this, I have to duplicate the entire path and delete the nodes I don't want. Beveled strokes?

Hi, I would like to know if there's a chance to incorporate the feature "beveled strokes" into Inkscape sometime in the not-too-distant future. (I'm not sure if SVG supports this, though). Years ago, when I was still using Windows, I had Canvas 7 installed, that had this feature, and I really liked what one can do with that. Hi, I use to download my Inkscape from inkscape.modevia.com/win32 The last version that worked was from 2008 12 30 With all later versions I had a very basic problem with the text-tool: when I open the fonts-dialog the program freezes and tells me, that it has to be shut down. see: http://hagoschaos.de/ink Regards, Hago

Dialog boxes...

Hi, What do you guys think of following issues? (I have posted it on Launchpad): I usually work with many different files open at the same time. Everytime I open inkscape, I have to re-open and re-position my dialog boxes. This is very cumbersome... -> Would there be a way to remember the positions and states of the dialog boxes? Both for floating and docked dialogs? Furthermore: I discovered this problem when working with many open documents. I use the program in the same way as we use "GIMP": different open files, and floating dialogs. The idea is that if I open a second document, I can use the dialog boxes which are already on my screen. If I raise another document (e.g. click on the taskbar), the dialog boxes should remain where they are, and I can use the same dialog boxes for a different document. This does not work now: * when opening different files by launching inkscape by clicking in the file browser ("Nautilus"), the different open files do not share the same dialogs. This is unwanted! * when opening different files by opening the file within inkscape, there is this bug: 1. Open a drawing "A.svg" 2. Open some dialogs (e.g. line style) using "floating" dialogs. 3. Open another drawing "B.svg" by File->Open . The file "B.svg" is raised on top, the dialogs remain (OK) 4. Click on an object in this drawing 5. Now click on the line style dialog. Immediately, "A.svg" raises!! This is unwanted behaviour! Cheers, Roeland.

Cannot open svg files

I am using the latest build on Win XP and every time I preview or try to open an svg file Inkscape crashes with an 'internal error'. If I try and import an svg, Inkscape crashes with no error, it just closes itself.
