can't install inkscape .46 on ubuntu

Inkscape preview .46.0 will not install on Xubuntu Linux 7.10 with Synaptic after I added the lines described on the front page of the Ubuntu website. the exact error was as follows ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------- inkscape: Depends: libpango1.0-0 (>=1.18.3) but 1.18.2-0ubuntu1 is to be installed

duplicate in the same Z level?

Can I duplicate an object in Inkscape while keeping it in the same Z level as the original? Missing module in Pattern along Path

Hi, I running Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) on a PowerBook G4. TIA, Jim The way I create gradients so that the gimp can use them involves these steps (not really all that necessary though you could just put the svg file in the gimp user gradient directory): 1. Open or create inkscape document with the object that has the gradient you want or made. 1a. If you open document with object that has gradient you want then follow step 2 if you just created the object with gradient then just delete object and save as plain svg. 2. Copy object with gradient into a new document and delete the object save as plain svg. 3. Open svg document with text editor and delete everything betwen </def></svg> tags 4. Save as whateveryounamedit.svg 5. Place in personal gimp gradient folder 6. Open gimp and you will see in the gradients a gradient with an id from the document, duplicate and rename the gradient and it will be a .ggr which you can just drop into any document or just resuse in the gimp. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. Bug: Inkscape or GIMP?

I followed the tutorial http://www.webschuur.com/publications/blogs/2007-01-09-fancy_rays_in_inksca… here to make a nifty radial pattern in Inkscape but when it's opened in the GIMP, some of the stripes appear dark red instead of with their gradient. http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1201457817.svg - This is a link to the SVG (you can open it in Inkscape or GIMP to see what I mean} http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1201402880.jpg- This is a link to a screenshot of the GIMP with my file open Is this a GIMP or Inkscape bug? The image displays correctly when opened in Firefox AND, interestingly, when I rotate the radial spokes around in Inkscape, save and open in GIMP, the dark part has moved as well. inkscape gallery update

I wanted to keep you update about the inkscape gallery project. Don'know why but it seems harder than we expected to find people to debug and populate the web-site, i'm doing this here in the international community and in the italian one too. We need more people to stress the web-site to be sure about it, and we need images to make it beautiful when it will be online at http://www.inkscapegallery.net. And i'd like the international community to partecipate cause i had to write so many words in english and i'm fearing that i did terrible mistakes cause i'm from italy and..you know...we're not so smart in multilanguage. I tried to handle this heavy task, i hope you will not be disgusted by my tv-serial based english :-[ I added new features to inkscape gallery, like an advanced search to search for licenses or users, now i'm working on the rss feeds and i provided personal users feed at the moment. We have another big project about inkscape gallery and i will soon entroduce to you. Please, this is a great chance for inkscape to be well known and considered as the great vector graphic software it really is, we don't want to miss this. Disable text-to-path for pdf export. (Inkscape 0.45.1)

Hello, I'm using Inkscape 0.45.1 on windows. How can I disable conversion of text to path when exporting to pdf? I need to do this to keep the resultant pdf file size small. We have a homogeneous user base so the font availability problem does not exist. Thanks in advance. regards, ani
