text-tool crash on win 2003

We have installed different versions inkscape on a terminal server with windows 2003. The program crashes everytime we select text-tool. Anyone with a solution to this? Kristin

Rectangle Shape: Not Rounded, but 2 white dots are not in Upper Right Corner

i'm doing the Tutorial Shapes.and I'm working on the blue rectangle. it's a perfect angular rectangle. A white dot appears in the upper right corner. I drag it down. The rectangle 's corners get rounded.We now can see another white dot in upper right corner. I drag it to the left. Rectangle's shape changes further. I drag this same dot (on the top part of rectangle) back to the corner. And i'm surprised to see that it has become a prefect rectangle again i thought it could only be a perfect (angular) rectangle if the two white dots are in the upper-right corner. It gets even stranger. I play around with the up-and-down white dot (the dot on the right side of the rectangle). Dragging it up or down doesn't change the shape of the now not-rounded rectangle.

New Feature: View Rotation

Hello, An idea just struck me: A View Rotation Tool Depending on the angle, stokes are more or less difficult. We all know the effect: Drawing a freehand circle. One part is ok, the rest is ... well ... So I propose to add a tool to rotate the view to any angle. This way, we can work with the perfect angle (just as on paper). The tool should be a small circle in the bottom bar. Clicking it turns the image upright. Drag left - Rotate clockwise, drag right - rotate the other way. Print Margins

I'm running inkscape 0.43_1 on FreeBSD 5.4 & when I go and print it will not display a config box where I can set margins. Is there anyway to set margins when printing through inkscape? I can set some options if I use Print Direct. I'm not using CUPS because that crashes gnome ports (which includes inkscape as it requires libgnomeprint). The only way I can print correctly with margins at the moment is to export each picture I want to a image and use another program to print it correctly. This is annoying. Michael Pope

new path tool?

hello, i've been using inkscape to colour in cartoons. i've been doing this by drawing a block of colour behind the outline, select both and use the path division tool to seperate the excess colour from the bit i want to keep. the problem is that the division tool cuts the outline down to fit the colour. i've had to duplicate the outline first and use that to do the division, then clean up the remnants of the duplicated outline. this is obviously a slow and painful way of working. what i need is a path tool that does the division thing on the lower vector (the colour) without affecting the upper vector (the outline). is there such a path tool? if not, would it be hard to implement? maybe it could be done with a script or something? thanks. john michaelson.

keeping configuration of straight lines

Hi, I'm trying to draw a set of blue straight lines with arrows but I don't know how to keep the configurations of my lines. That is: To make a blue straight line with an arrow I create a line and after I use the fill and stroke window to set the arrow and the color of my line. After this and I try to draw my second line, so I have to set the arrow and the color again... So, I'd like to draw the following lines with the same configuration of my last one. Is it possible? When I draw rectangles inkscape keeps the last configuration. I'm using inkscape 0.43. Thanks, Marco
