strange beaviour export to pdf

Hello, i had a logo, only simple vector items. Whe i place to a regular site an export as pdf it looks ok. But when a place the logo to a template site and export as pdf, the black letters (converted to path) where missing. New version of "Guide to Inkscape"

Hello, I have uploaded a new version of the book "A Guide to Inkscape". Two new tutorials: 1. Creating a logo from a photograph with the help of auto tracing. 2. Creating an isometric projection (an idea suggested by Alain Viguier). Two new chapters: 1. "Using the Command Line" 2. "SVG and the Web" showing how to use SVGs on web pages (including very simple linking and animation). Additional web pages: 1. A download page for the graphics used by the tutorials. 2. A page showing the examples in the "SVG and the Web" chapter. 3. A page for testing web browser support of SVGs. Cannot print to letter size paper

I am trying Inkscape and so far so good except for one thing, I cannot print to letter size paper. This is 0.42.2 in Suse 10.0. Printer is Laserjet 2300 (postscript) on USB. Set the media size to letter in yast, and then in KDE control panel to letter. Also set the print to PDF and Print to postscript to letter. Gnome configuration does not have anything that I could find for printing configuration, however, evolution and other gnome apps print fine. Why does not Inkscape have a printer configuration if it does not use the default cups config? Not much on the wiki about it either. Would sure like to use Inkscape, but unless I can print to letter size, it will be useless. Art
