Converting a text into individual paths

Dear all, Is there a way to convert a text into individual paths (one separate path for each letter or letter part), which can then be moved or modified individually? Thanks in advance, Herve

Not nagging or anything. But I'm checking out the feature request page for that function every day to see if someone has assigned to do it. When that function is added I can switch to inkscape and use it to draw my animations and I'll credit inkscape in the film and the film will atleast show at film festivals in sweden. Problem adding fonts

Hi list, I am running Inkscape 0.42.2 on a Windows XP Pro machine and encountered a strange problem. I did not notice if I was able to successfully add fonts earlier but yesterday I tried to add some and failed to access them trough Inkscape. However, I was able to use some other fonts I remember I installed earlier. Those new fonts I installed yesterday were also available in other graphics programmes I use too. So I searched for the font cache file and deleted it, restarted Inkscape but nothing seemed to have changed, deleted again but the problem persisted. Now, I do not know what to do. Please help me!

Navigation dialog - Wish

splitting a shape into two

Forgive me when I miss the obvious but... I have a shape with all those points along it's path. Let's assume it looks like a "T". Now I want join the two corner points so I end up with two shapes/objects. One looking like "-" and the other one like "|". _ T -> | How can I do that? cheers -- Torsten

Hey, there! Would somebody have some insight on this issue? The user in the forwarded message says that he installed inkscape-0.42.2-1.static.i686.rpm on his Mandriva LE 2005 (Athlon 2000.) When launching Inkscape, this is what he gets: inkscape: symbol lookup error: inkscape: undefined symbol: g_build_filenamev Any pointers? Greetings!
