Good morning I do not speak ingles, single Castilian. problem importing ps

Hi, I'm trying to import ps from inkscape, it does not work here. I use mandriva and version of inkscape inkscape-0.42-0.1.102mdk. Is there any bug fixes related to this in version 0.42.2. Is it possible to read directly the changelog of inkscape for different version? it seems to run pstoedit that isn't not able to convert from ps to svg (I tried on the command line. When tenting the importation it gives a popup window with this message : pstoedit: version 3.40 / DLL interface 108 (build Mar 19 2005 - release build) : Copyright (C) 1993 - 2005 Wolfgang Glunz Warning: some types of raster images in the input file cannot be converted if the output is sent to standard output and then it says that there is an error : /usr/share/inkscape/extensions/sk2svg.sh: line 9: /home/manu/tmp/tmp.zNhkh10874/sk2svg10872.svg: No such file or directory (probably because the svg file was not created) (By the way to convert from ps to svg I'm using right now pstoedit to convert to .sk and then load the .sk file in skconvert and export to svg, a bit unpractical!!) Another Inkscape Book update

Hi, I've once again updated my book "A Guide to Inkscape": http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.php The book should now cover almost all (if not all "non-experimental") features of Inkscape v0.42. The biggest changes are the completion of the Tiling and Tracing chapters as well as adding an index. This is still a draft. I plan on adding more examples and of course the new v0.43 features when they have stabilized. There are a few things that I don't fully understand. Perhaps someone could enlighten me: 1. Find dialog: What is the use of the "Text" entry box. I could not get it do anything. 2. Gradient handles: Is there a good use for gradient handles that snap to each other? 3. Text and Font dialog, Spell checker: Does this actually work? Thanks, Tav

Pen shortcut, xywh precision

There are two RFEs that I want to do something about but not before I hear people's opinions: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1167787&group_id=9… I agree that Pen deservers a better F-key shortcut than Shift+F6. But I also need the freehand drawing (F6) very often and don't want to demote it. Very well, all conditions are met, and it appears all comments voiced have been in support of the proposal. I've submitted the request to SF to have inkscape-user-es@ added. I think seeing news in the native language will be the most effective way of building the community.
