Buenas Noches Haciendo un resumen de inkscape en español: Hay que mandar un mail preguntando quienes quisieran participar, y en caso de ser muchos, se arma una lista oficial de inkscape en castellano y/o español. ¡Aquí se cumple, el primer requisito!. Por el "no": no hacer nada. Por el "si": Enviar mail a: delafe@...155... Poner en Asunto: "si Oficial" Segunda opción: Y en el caso de ser pocos, se puede armar una lista no oficial de inkscape en castellano y/o español igual. Pero me equivoque de lista. Yo tengo 55 años y no tengo tiempo de aprender ingles. Pero estoy en el "diseño gráfico para imprenta" desde antes que existiera Internet. Tengo alguna experiencia sobre el diseño gráfico digital pues manejo el Corel desde el 4. A de más tengo muy buenas relaciones dentro de la comunidad Corel de habla española. Y de usuarios tester, de Corel. Entonces pensé que podría ayudar desde mi conocimiento y desde mis contactos. Partiendo que yo no se programar pero si se usar lo que hacen los programadores. Y como si esto fuera poco estoy muy integrado a la comunidad de SL y Open Source de Argentina. Espero haber sido claro. Si esto no se comprende "lo de la ayuda". Me ofreceré en otro lado. Sept 7, 2005 UTC - Release 0.17 of the Open Clip Art Library (http://www.openclipart.org) is now available on-line for download as an individual package consisting of over 5000 images submitted by over 500 international artists. The size of this release successfully exceeds the months "OCAL 5K Pledge" of 5000 images thanks to the contributions by new and old contributors. A quick overview of this release: * Library consists of over 5000 images! * New Clip Art Browser by Greg Steffensen * Document Management System (DMS) now linked into website for testing * New clipart_package CVS module for building packages * Added RPM packages of the release Due to the success of the "OCAL 5K Pledge," the next goal is for 10K images (10,000 clip art images) by the end of 2005. It's this kind of deficiency, which as I understand is a deficiency in the svg format, that leads other graphics apps to have their own native format (.psp for Paint Shop Pro, .xcf for The Gimp, etc.) because sometimes you need to carry extra information from one editing session to the next that cannot be conveniently stores in the standard file formats (.bmp in the old days, then .eps or .jpg, nowadays .svg, .png, etc.) I guess it's a deliberate decision on behalf of the Inkscape team to stick scrupulously to the .svg format, this may even be one of the reasons for forking the project in the first place, but it does have consequences. Would it be practical to store colour separation info a comment? Also on the subject of CMYK, I was trying to enter C:10 M:20 Y:30 K:40, but when I enter the Y:30 it changes to C:0 M:11 Y:22 K:10, so I am left guessing what to enter in the K: field to get the desired equivalent colour (probably 40, but I don't really know enough colour theory). This seems a little over-zealous to me. Anti-aliased

Greets, A friend and I were working in Inkscape, and due to the slowness of his computer, the going was, well, slow. To counter this, we searched for a way to turn the anti-aliasing off, but could not find it anywhere. Maybe there should be an option to? Some people might need the accuracy of sharp edges for editing sometimes. Can anyone help? Thanks! Raeth

Snapping when drawing vs. snapping when editing

Hi, I am using the 0.42 release and I love the improvements, especially concerning the text and gradient tools. But now here is my problem: I have set up a grid with spacing of 5 px and snap distance of 2px. Options "Snap bounding box to grid" and "Snap points to grid" are turned on. Now when I draw a rectangle, I get exactly what I want. The origin and the end point of the rectangle snap nicely to the grid. But when I edit the points of the rectangle (with the rectangle tool or the node edit tool), they do not snap to the grid any more. They can be placed anywhere between the grid points. Is this a bug or just something I do not understand about these options? OK, I experimented a little and found out that I get the desired snapping behaviour when I convert the rectangle to a path. But my question remains: Why is there a difference between drawing a rectangle (snapping ok) and editing the points of the rectangle (no snapping until converted to path)? An Inkscape mascot is definately needed

Hi list, The logo is not enough guys, there should be some maskot for inkscape. Linux has one, gimp has one, mozilla has one. The sooner it happens, the better. I created some mice with inkscape recently: http://www.inf.sgsp.edu.pl/pub/MALUNKI/incoming/ and if you like the idea I could create some inkscape related mice or similar animals, like http://www.inf.sgsp.edu.pl/pub/MALUNKI/2004/qcad2.png I've created some mascot-logos already and personaly I believe animal-mascots that can be drawn with hands and fingers (hard with birds or tuxes) are best, because various objects can be nicely put in their hands. I don't want to force myself into official inkscape logo author, so the contest could be a good idea too. Karol
