I've got a few bugs open for Win32 issues, and a few ideas on how to address them. What I don't have is a good way to compile or run Win32 tests here on my Mac. :-) What would be helpful would be anyone who could either build win32 versions with some tweaks or anyone who could run quick tests with those builds. Especially given our freeze state, I don't want to check anything in to CVS that hasn't gone through actual build and user testing. So... If anyone could help with either of those aspects (I've had a few people mention this in chat), just drop me a quick email directly and say if you can compile, test, or both. (no need to clutter the mailing lists to responses to this) Thanks.

You would have to install the fonts on at least one computer, but once you had done that, you could then convert the symbols that you need into outlines and then save them as .svg for future use. Symbols and Fonts

Hi list, I got some fonts that represent some cartographic symbols and I would like to use it without install the fonts. Even if I install the fonts I would have many trouble to load it and find the one I want. Could you send me some suggestion to use this symbols ? I attached the image to explain what I mean. Windows version: Internal error

Hello, I use Inkscape on my Linux (after several years with Sodipodi) and I used also Inscape at work on WinXP. But now, I tried to install latest Inkscape on WinXP on my new laptop (due to problems with HW vs. Linux installation) as a partial solution, but I get "Iscape encountered an interanll error and will close now." message with "Close" button. There's no log file or whatever that could lead to the solution of a problem... I also tried to replace the binary executable for the "LATEST" available windows binary, but it doesn't work. Any ideas? Regards, Libor

Color fill

Hello to the group. I'm new here and new to Inkscape. I've spent way too many hours on this, so I'm going to ask..... I have created an image of a plaque. The border around it is essentially lines and curves connected together until they meet at the starting point, then another that is one grid square inside of the first. I want to fill the area between the parallel lines (that form the border) with a color, then fill the inside of the plaque image with a different color. I can manage to get odd-ball areas to fill with color, but that's it. What am I doing wrong? Chuck

RESETTING DEFAULTS

HELLO INKSCAPE - I LOVE WHAT YOU PEOPLE ARE DOING! NOW I NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING. I'VE BEEN FOOLING AROUND FOR AWHILE, & READING EVERY POST ON THIS FORUM. I LIKE TO ANSWER MY OWN QUESTIONS FIRST, BUT NOW I'M STYMIED. USING 4.2 ON OSX.3.9 I REALIZED THAT WHEN I OPENED A NEW DOCUMENT IT RETAINED WHATEVER FORMATTING TO SHAPE FILL COLOR & LINE I HAD MADE WHILE FOOLING AROUND THE LAST TIME. TODAY, I DRAGGED 4.2 TO THE TRASH & INSTALLED 4.2.2 USUALLY, I LIKE TO TRASH THE PLIST FILE, CACHE, & ANYTHING ELSE I CAN FIND LIKE THIS TOO. OTHERWISE I'VE HAD PROBLEMS CARRY OVER OR EVEN NEW ONES CREATED ( I LEARNED THIS TRICK FROM APPLE SUPPORT FORUM , ERASING & REINSTALLING & UPGRADING OSX SEVERAL TIMES ). BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY OTHER FILES OR FOLDERS FOR INKSCAPE OTHER THAN THE APP ICON ITSELF, ANYWHERE ON MY COMPUTER. SO, JUST AS I FEARED, THE VERY SHAPE,COLOR & LINE MODIFICATIONS I PERFORMED LAST SESSION FOOLING AROUND UNDER 4.2 ARE STILL THE DEFAULTS FOR NEW DOCS UNDER THE NEW INSTALLATION OF 4.2.2, NOW, I WENT THROUGH ALL THE MENUS & PREFS I COULD FIND. DEFAULT BUTTONS FOR THE SHAPE TOOLS RESET THE SHAPES THEMSELVES BACK TO ORIGINAL, BUT NOTHING I FOUND WILL RESET THE COLOR OR LINE ASPECTS BACK TO A DEFAULT. SO, IS THERE A WAY TO RESET GLOBAL DEFAULTS FOR ENTIRE APPLICATION AT ONCE ? OR, FAILING THAT, WHERE IS THAT PESKY LITTLE PLIST FILE HIDING ?! - THANX FOR A GOOD TIME, ROCK FEST
