Compiling a list of active Inkscape IRC channels

Hi everybody, we need your help to collect a list of active Inkscape user IRC channels for the website. So far, we have: irc://irc.freenode.org/#inkscape irc://irc.freenode.org#inkscape.de irc://irc.freenode.org#inkscape-fr Are there any other active channels, maybe in other languages (esp. Batch export is saving the files where?

I am confused with the batch export under the Export I have 40 images, and select them all and do batch export. Its exporting the 40 images, but where? I've done it a few times, and sometimes I have 20 icons on my desktop, all named g....png ( g with a 4 digit number) And other times, there are no icons.. So where is it saving it? Ive read the help, but that talks about changing the settings, which you can't, since it's greyed out Thank you

Thank you Gian, that looks like the right font and have nowinstalled it on my computer. I have now created a new file with just the yearand need to figure out a way to create a white background and just stick it on topof the old year. Or maybe just a white square to cover up the year. I amgetting too old to relearn how to use inkscape...... lol. Thanks to you too Maren, I followed your instructions and gotto the point where it says remove the bitmat image but could see only one layer so guess somethingwent wrong. I really only want to removethe year and keep the rest as it is. I did create it originally in inkscape a few years ago,drawing and all......... if only I could remember how I did it, I would be veryhappy. I really appreciate you all trying to help, Joanne

help with font

I have not used inkscape for a while and was self taught. It is a long learning curve which will be even harder now on my laptop with no mouse. I have a file created years back and need to add one number to it to make it 2015. I can't for the life of me remember which font I used and how to add the 5 in the right size and right angle. Could someone help please ? I would also like to remove the date completely but don't think that is possible, or is it ? am attaching the file if someone can help I would appreciate. cheers,Joanne

Exported images' colors won't match colors displayed in Inkscape

Hi I seem to be having a color management problem. I don't know how to fix it. When I export my drawing from Inkscape as PNG and open it in Windows photo viewer or Adobe Lightroom, the colors don't match those I see in Inkscape. However, if I view the image in Windows 8 Photo app (Metro app), the colors do seem to match Inkscape. I have created a color profile for my monitor. I have tried to change Inkscape's settings to use it through Document Properties > Color > Linked Color Profiles as well as Preferences > Input/Output > Color Management. Changing those settings don't seem to have any effect on the colors when I export the drawing. I'm a newbie when it comes to color management, so I don't know what I should be doing to preserve the colors.

How to set default fill and stroke for texts?

I'm a new Inkscape user, I'm using it to draw some simple network diagrams. I seem to have got my text set up so that that default fill is 'None' and the stroke is not 'None'. For the small size text I'm using this produces rather rubbish looking text. I can't work out how to set the defaults back to what they should be. Clicking the 'Set as default' box in the text pop-up doesn't help, as expected that sets the default font style and size. Can anyone help? -- Chris Green

If I uncheck that, I just get 1 Image I want 40 images. It randomly puts some on my desktop, but where is the rest.. the progress bar is clearly processing image 1 of 40 , 2 of 40 etc.. Save selected image

I've looked online and through the manual, but cannot find what I was looking for, so I am not sure if you can do that. When I select the image I want to save on my screen. It's always selecting a bigger area around it. Is there a way to just select that image without a big blank border around it? Tried the Custom as well, but I don't see anything happening.
