Red Spiral Challenge

Does anyone know how to creat the red spiral with the continuous gradient in Tavmjong Bah's "A Guide to Inkscape" I took a couple cracks at it last night without much sucess. ~Aaron

Call for help: Screenshots needed for 0.46

As we're nearing the release, we need more screenshots to show off the new features in 0.46, to be published at http://inkscape.org/screenshots/index.php?lang=en. Here's a page describing how to create good screenshots: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/MakingScreenshots. Use the information on that page and the best of the existing screenshots in our gallery as inspiration. How to upgrade to Inkscape 0.46

Greetings Sorry, I seem to be always late to everything. Had no idea ver. 0.46 was already released. Is it fully stable? Could you please explain me how to upgrade to 0.46? Import .cdr files?

On another list I found someone who had a whole library of clip art in .cdr format which appparently is a Corel Draw vector format. Will Inkscape import these files? 'inkscape:original-d' attribute

what is the significance of the 'inkscape:original-d' attribute, I mean what action causes it to be present? I'm finding that when it is present, then it is no longer possible to edit the d attribute as one normally would in the XML editor, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/223986 . printing images

Hi, I have a file containing some text and one image which is embedded in the file. It all looks fine on the screen, but when I attempt to print the artwork (to a pdf file or a physical printer) the image does not appear. I have attached the Inkscape file in question. Any help would be much appreciated. I am using Inkscape 0.46 on Windows XP and Windows 2000. SVG Viewer for IE

Hi, to view SVG in IE I use the Adobe SVG Viewer Plugin. The plugin is not longer supported from Adobe and I am looking for a new plugin. Are any other viewers for IE available ? My tests with IE 7 have shown problems, eg. SVG overlaps divs as you can see in the screenshot. I have already tested the Renesis Player without success!
