Is my conclusion correct that until feImage is done, other primitives like feBlend, feComposite, and feMerge cannot work directly with two different objects? For example, using feComposite with the Out operator to "punch" a hole in one object shaped like another object. Kurt

problems compiling inkscape 0.46

Dear all Following the advise of J.B.C.Engelen I have tried to compile inkscape and I it has failed. I have downloaded the tar ball and follow the route configure ->make->make install but make does not build the executable. What am i missing? Is my system lacking any packages? uniconv conversion from .cdr on Windows XP

has anyone been able to successfully use the python utility uniconv to do a conversion on a win32 machine from .cdr to .svg, preferably from a DOS prompt, since that is easier? I can do a successful conversion from .svg to .svg in DOS, but that is not very interesting. Hi, this is my first posting to this forum and I hope I send my questions to the right email address ;-) 1. Why does Inkscape uses the path tag for circles instead of the existing circle tag? 2. When painting a circle in Inkscape and moving it the move is stored in the transform translate tag. Question on the Inkscape Parser

Hello, This is my first attempt to submit a question via email. I have been using the new Inkscape with SVG that is created from a text file from a different application and the formatting is correct for the XML. The issue I would like addressed is that the parsing of the Text Tag blows up in Inkscape. There are valid visible/printable characters used between the Tags such as & < or diacritical characters and these make the svg file refused by Inkscape. The file will import fine in to Scribus but I don't want to use that as there is another issue with Scribus. I think Inkscape looks much more promising and the only problem is the one mentioned here as far as using the files I need to open in Inkscape. I no it is probably not trivial but I do think that this is a parsing bug. I am attaching a stripped down version of the file I try to open so it can be reviewed and used for testing.
