Fill and stroke dialog - radial gradients usage

Hello everybody, new to Inkscape I'm tring to use the Fill & stroke dialog, tab "Fill" => Radial gradient and whish to fill some rectangle with some color - but not evenly. I can get center darker than periphery but I'd like to get center lighter than periphery instead, and don't know how to do that. I tried to play withe those blue and red squares in the central zones but I hardly understand : - what is their exact usage - how to move each square separately - what those blue lines stand for and how to use it. I've similar questions for linear gradient. I'm an absolute newbee in drawing as in Inkscape's usage, so please be patient and excuse my bad English -- But feel free to answer in French Regards, Didier Spaier Paris

I have just installed Inkscape 0.41 on a Windows XP machine. I have an error, "one or more extensions failed to load". Here is the extension-errors log. ps error

Sorry for disturbing again with this ps issue. So the story is: eps export and print to ps as fonts is okay, but every letter with accents (őöóőúéáű) goes its corresponding two character unicode code. (it should be ISO 8859-2). How can I off this strange behaviour? Thanks, Aewyn

Trying to find out about feBlend modes

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I couldn't find any mention of it on the archives, I guess I must have searched wrong. Is there a plan to have Inkscape support blending modes in SVG? for example the feBlend filter? Thanks in advance!!

printint text (ps) problem

Hi, I have printed some text with ps operators, but the created ps contains no text, but text as bitmap. Is it normal, or I misconfigure something? I try my svg import in scribus (1.2.1 08.jan.2005 build) but the result is chaotic. So my question is, how can I send my work to printshop ? (text as bitmap is not a solution of course) Thanks, Aewyn

SVG-T and SVG-B modes

Hi folks, I am a new user and I am struggling to produce strictly SVG-Tiny and SVG-Basic images. Both SVG-T and SVG-B are subsets of the full SVG spec. As a "Save As" option I can only see "Vanilla SVG". Is there the ability to save as specifically SVG-T or SVG-B? It would be extremely nice if Inkscape had "compatibility modes", so when authoring an SVG-T file, for example, actions and options beyond the scope of that feature-set would be dimmed. This would prevent the author from inadvertently using features that were not supported in the intended target format. I guess I must be blinded by my newness. (Am I the only newbie completely lost without conventional, searchable help?) Is there a howto "text to path" with details and tricks?

I am having an extremely difficult time getting the text to path feature to format like I want it. I'm trying to get text to fit into a circle or an ellipse suspended off of the edge, centered, on the bottom. Like this: www.wvofuels.com/UBC/UBC2.png. Notice at the beginning and end of the text how the text diverges from the outer circle. I can get the text there, but to get it to take the same shape as the bottom of the circle is so awkward. Here is what I do: 1. I copy the shape that I want the text to fit to. 2. I then shrink that copied shape using CTRL so that it stays the same shape just smaller. 3. I write the text and make it pretty (right font, color & size), select the text and smaller shape together using shift. 4. Then in the text menu a choose "add to path" (it's not right here in front of me so my labels or text may be off) 5. This puts my text off left justified to the shape, but I want it centered. 6. So I undo out of that and then place a square over the shape to trim it down, but using the Object menu. With an adjusted smaller shape (i.e. the bottom third of the circle) I do steps 3 and 4 again. 7. I iterate until I have the right sized shape so that my text is centered. LAME! 8. I tried to adjust the shape that the text was tied to, but could never get the text centered, not wrapped, and still fitting the shape of the bottom of the circle. It seems that you ought to be able to center that text on the shape and or choose where that text should reside in/on the shape. I am probably just missing some really simple command. Help out a nOOb! Thanks and great work on this amazing app!

Line marker colour

Hi guys, is there any intention of fixing bug #995815 for the 0.41 release? It's the bug where line markers (for instance, arrowheads) don't follow the colour of the line they're attached to. It's a bit of a showstopper for me and obviously a few other people too, judging from the bug tracker comments. I hope someone feels like fixing it soon... Thanks, Arnout
