Website: two small updates, Victor: permissions granted
by Maren Hachmann
Hi again,
yesterday's new pages are now linked from other pages, so they can be
found more easily by someone who is interested in the topic:
FAQ:
https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#Can_Inkscape_create_animations?
Diff-Screenshot: FAQ.png
Contribute:
inkscape.org/en/contribute/
Diff-Screenshot: Contribute.png
Thanks again - and Victor: welcome to the website translation team!
Your new account has translator permissions now.
Please talk to Duarte about pages requiring your attention :)
(I can think of the new ones from yesterday, the additions mentioned in
this mail, and the FAQ, that has changed quite a lot since it has been
translated to Portuguese. FAQ is more difficult from the technical side,
though - needs copying of all plugins from English, and then careful
selection of old text and translation of the new. Never insert links by
copy-paste!)
A Brazilian-Portuguese language version of the website will still take a
while, the website development is going on.
Regards + happy translating,
Maren

Website: Summer updates :)
by Maren Hachmann
Hi everyone,
we've got two new pages on our website!
1.) https://inkscape.org/en/learn/animation/ - Brynn had the idea to
create this page, as people often ask about animation on forums etc. -
especially, as there had been intentions to add animation features to
Inkscape earlier on. This page is quite long, but maybe you also find
something interesting for you there while translating! I liked trying
out and looking at all those options while helping with the creation of
the page.
2.) https://inkscape.org/en/contribute/to-do-list/ - We've got a 'job
wall' on the website now. You do not need to translate the job
descriptions - all jobs require that the person who does them speaks
English very well, and they may change frequently (at least we hope
so!). Just translate the introductory text - it's short!
If you happen to be able to do one of the jobs mentioned, please
consider helping Inkscape with it!
I have also added a request for translators for the new introductory
manual by jazzynico and jemanyalisa - I hope this will help them get
traction!
@Elisa: that other document you mentioned, should that be added to the
list too? Can you give me a link?
Thank you everyone for your work on the website - and enjoy summer, if
you happen to be on the northern half of the globe!
Kind regards,
Maren

Raise and lower
by scootergrisen
Right now in the Layer and Object menu we have this:
Layer:
"Raise Layer"
"Lower Layer"
"Layer to Top"
"Layer to Bottom"
Object:
"Raise"
"Lower"
"Raise to Top"
"Lower to Bottom"
Wouldn't it be better to call them the same in both menus:
"Raise"
"Lower"
"Raise to Top"
"Lower to Bottom"

Language file availability
by scootergrisen
Are the language files not available on some website so i can for
example quickly view the german translation file without having to
download the full Inkscape source and unpacking it locally?
