Dear fellow website translators,
the inkscape.org website has been updated with a lot of new functionality.
You can read about the main changes for non-editors here in Martin's
summary for the developer mailing list:
For translators and editors, there are a few changes about how the
website works, too - for example, missing pages are now filled in
automatically with the English contents as a fallback.
This means that I am going to remove all those copied English pages in
non-English languages, and very few very outdated translations, so that
the contents will be current and available for all languages, even if
only in English.
All website translators are now part of the new, official translators
team, and we have our own little section on the website, with our own
gallery and (soon) chat: https://inkscape.org/de/*translator
I will make a writeup with all the main changes and tricks for you soon
and update the Wiki page to reflect the new status.
Unfortunately, currently, the website has severe performance issues
(every action takes about one minute to complete), and there may also be
some database problems. Our web team is working on getting this resolved.
I will update you when the site is ready to be 'attacked' by us again -
currently, editing is very trying for one's patience ;)
Big mistake today: I wanted to import the current version of
https://inkscape.org/en/develop/next-release/ from English to French but
my favorite method is always to delete and copy… But in fact I deleted
the content for all languages!
Could you restore it, please?
Dear website translators,
Brynn added a new item to the comic section on the "Around the internet"
page: https://inkscape.org/en/community/inkscape-around-internet/ (see
This is just a really tiny edit - something for your lunch break, maybe
Would be a pity if visitors missed out on these comics ;)
