Thank you!
The issue happens with all the strings that have the letter "à" in all the
submenus opened from the toolbar (like the one of the spiral tool, right
click on the value box)
I'm using the build from AppVeyor for Windows. At this point we have to
wait for someone or a developer that can check the issue on Windows.
My guess is that I have to revert my latest changes for the accented
characters.

where is this string in practice (from /share/extensions/gimp_xcf.inx)
by Cristian Secară
I like to know where (or how) can I see these string in practice:
#: ../share/extensions/gimp_xcf.inx:3
msgid "GIMP XCF"
#: ../share/extensions/gimp_xcf.inx:9
msgid "Save Guides"
...
Obviously it belongs to an extension, but which one ? There is nothing GIMP-related in extensions list – at least not in their names.
Thank you,
Cristi

Starting from Inkscape 1.0 this will also be the page users see when
they click on "Ask us a question" in the help menu.
Happy translating,

Problem with accented characters in toolbar submenus (Inkscape 1.0 translation)
by Firas Hanife
Hello!
I have noticed that using accented characters in the toolbar menus is a bit
problematic.
In the current Italian translation it.po the string
"parte da metà"
is displayed as in the attached screenshot Accent_char_menu_current.png
I replaced it with a UTF-8 character, the string is now
"parte da metà"
and this is the result is shown in Accented_char_menu_utf8.png
What should I do to fix this? I'm missing some quotation marks?
Thank you!

where can I find most Star (and perhaps Polygon) parameter strings ?
by Cristian Secară
(resend on correct list hopefully, with linked snapshots instead of attached snapshots in order to avoid message size approval)

Hmmm... that's *very* strange (at least here on Windows 10, 64 bit, Romanian UI).
1. If I launch Inkscape with "set lang=en" temporary environment, then everything is as in your snapshot.
2. If I launch Inkscape with "set lang=de" temporary environment, then everything is as in your snapshot except for the language, which now is German.
3. If I launch Inkscape "as is", i.e. on my Romanian global environment, then the menu becomes as in this screenshot
https://www.secarica.ro/traduceri/misc/inkscape_star_toolbar_ro.png
4. If I launch Inkscape with "set lang=fr" temporary environment, then the menu becomes as in this screenshot

???
