Hello, My name is Iñigo, I'm a native Basque/Euskara (eu) speaker. I've been using Inkscape intermittently for quit some time, and detected one annoying translation error in the user interface that wasn't fixed. As translations for Basque language weren't updated since 2022-07-23 I decided to fix it myself and by the way contribute translating the whole file. I appreciate deeply the great work done so fare with Inkscape and want to collaborate translating to Basque as much as I can. I have experience translating free software, I am the coordinator and main translator for Basque in KDE. KDE uses SVN for translations and I am not used to GIT. I tried to make a merge request for the translations I made so far, in fact I tried to make one a few hours ago that I cancelled to add more translations I have just made. The merge request shows - "Requires 1 approval from eligible users and Devs." and - "Merge blocked: all required approvals must be given." So If I made the merge request correctly I'll wait for approval. Otherwise I would appreciate some tips to make it right. Cheers. Iñigo.

Inkscape 1.3.1 upcoming

Hi all, I've heard from devs that they are planning a bugfix release of the 1.3.x branch in the first half of November. If you'd like to improve your 1.3 translations or increase the percentage of translated strings (see status at , please grab the po files from https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/jobs/artifacts/1.3.x/download?job=tr… Up-to-date sttatistics for the current translation status of Inkscape 1.3.x will be available shortly (probably tomorrow) at https://inkscape.org/doc/devel/translations-statistics-1.3.x.html If I get any updated info about the release date from devs, I'll let you know here - I think it would probably be best to aim for being finished by the end of October. Updates on Beginner's Guide translation procedures

Hello, As per Moini's request a few weeks ago (on the inkscape-docs mailing list), I explored documentation of Sphinx and ReadTheDocs, and researched a bit on the current Inkscape translation procedure. It seems like a good idea to manage the translations of the Beginners' Guide the same way as the main application: - clone the repo - translate with local software - create a branch with new .po files - create merge requests I've successfully created .po files for the Beginner's Guide, but I'm having trouble generating them into translated HTML files. Does anyone here have experience with translating Sphinx books? I'm wondering if it's possible to push to a branch in the guide (or somewhere else, I'm no developer😅) so that someone could investigate. Also, are there any official procedures or software to manage coordination between translators of the same language, or is it up to individual coordinators? Asking because I plan to form a small local team (3-4 people) to help with the translations. (BTW I'm planning to create a branch and do translations first, to separate from updates to the main version, then afterwards pull in the changes and translate them.) Cheers, ltlnx
