Inkscape Program translations: nearing string freeze / Website: Source download page updated to show link to new alpha source

Dear translators, Below, I'm forwarding a message by Bryce to devel / inkscape-announce lists which may be interesting to those of you who would like to contribute to the Inkscape main program translations (and who are not subscribed to either of those two lists). For the website translators, there's an update, too: The page http://inkscape.org/en/download/source/ was updated to contain a link to an alpha source code package for the next Inkscape version. String freeze will be in one week (May 22nd), but the i18n POT file has been updated in trunk and we do not anticipate any serious changes between now and string freeze so please feel free to start preparing your language translations. Website: Another pre-release version is available

Dear fellow Inkscape website translators, the page https://inkscape.org/en/download/source has been changed to contain a new pre-release version source code package. Some items have been rearranged, the screenshot (https://inkscape.org/de/~Moini/%E2%98%85website-update-download-source) doesn't convey it all, so you may need to compare directly to the English version. Did anyone already try it out? :-) (the ppa version should be the same currently, I think, as there is no separate branch for the release version atm) Kind Regards, Maren

Website: New page and change on 'About' page

Dear fellow website translators, there have been two changes in the 'About' menu: - Martin has added a page that tells people about the licencing of Inkscape (and works created with it): https://inkscape.org/en/about/license/ The licence text it contains is also available in other languages, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0-translations If you choose to use one of those (or any other) translations, or even to translate the licence text by yourself (I wouldn't recommend that), please make it clear that the translation is inofficial, and that the only text that is legally binding is the English original (link to it). Also make sure to include the name of the original translator and the correct licence for the licence text translation. You can also choose to keep the English original text, and add an additional paragraph that describes what the GPLv2 means for users and developers in short, if there is no translation for your language available. - On the 'About' page, we've got a new link to the Document Liberation Project. The image itself contains English text. https://inkscape.org/en/about/ I'm still trying to find out if we may translate the image itself (we'd need to have an editable version for that, too). Until that is known, please just download and re-upload the image to use in a new picture plugin. Thank you for your help! Kind Regards, Maren
