Hi everybody, I am Alexander Shopov - the committer of the Bulgarian Gnome translation team. There has been some interest in translating the Inkscape po-file in Bulgarian by Ilia Penev. There also has been some interest in this by Victor Dachev. I want to check that there are no other translators to Bulgarian in order to avoid duplication of efforts. more languages and win32 installer

Hello all, there have been a recent number of new po-languages. In order to reflect the new languages in the installer selection we need to update the installer language files. They are not part of the inkscape.po and so must be modified manually. I already updated the english and german, pls check the comment on top of the english one. Also if you want to create a new installer language grab the english version and translate the strings :-) Thanks, Adib. --

Inkscape error when testing danish locale

Hi I've co'ed and then build Inkscape from SVN to test some parts of the danish translation that didn't show up in the menues in the .44 release. I built with the standard configure config with no errors and the program works fine when I'm running it with the english locale (default C). But as soon as I'm trying to use the translated po file by copying the resulting inkscape.mo to /usr/local/share/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/inkscape.mo , Inkscape SIGABRTS like this: $ export LANG=da_DK $ /usr/local/bin/inkscape terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error' what(): basic_string::_S_construct NULL not valid Emergency save activated! Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now. If you can reproduce this crash, please file a bug at www.inkscape.org with a detailed description of the steps leading to the crash, so we can fix it. Afbrudt (SIGABRT) Could anyone tell me how they test their GUI translation an avoiding this problem? Best regards Rune Rønde Laursen

How can I start translating the pt_BR version of Inkscape?

Hey everybody, I want to help to start/finish the file of this awesome vector graphics software to my native language (pt_BR :: portuguese from Brazil) does someone know what could I do to start it? And, sorry to complaint folks, I really dont wanna sound arrogant or something like it, but the Inkscape site is really messy! At least the developer links are all most of them broke! I have updated the information in the inkscape wiki about that issue. http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ#I_am_working_on_a_machine_with_… The information before was definately wrong (though it was written from me and nobody has made it better since then or has complained). Oh well If you have a full translation too I suppose the quality of the translation will increase if we merge our translations together. My translation is currently going through a quality check by the finnish localization group (http://www.lokalisointi.org). pt_BR version of the tutorials

Hey great translation Inkscape community, Riding in the wave of all the recent translation talking, here's my 2 cents: after working in the last 10 days or so, finally I finished the translation (based on the latest original english version of the tutorials) of the seven nice default tutorials (including all its illustrations captions) into my mother tongue, Brazillian Portuguese, also "geeky" known as pt_BR. :) Although I tried my best in this work, both in translation and proofreading, (and I think the final text is pretty good to the novice user; I myself started it to know Inkscape better), undoubtedly, it can be improved, so that it would be cool if other translators consider working on it too. I'm always willing to team up for a more learner-friendly pt_BR version . I think that even speakers of other Portuguese language variations could benefit from this translation, so I hope it may encourage more native portuguese speakers to join the Inkscape community. But I still didn't send all the files to Joshua Andler yet because I didn't know exactly how to run xmllint on the xml sources. Could someone give some hint on it? danish translation update

Hi list I have updated the danish translation and just wanted to hand over the file. The Inkscape wiki told me to use the sf webinterface. Now, the file is sent but the new entry (req-id: 1518249) on the patches page says: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=604308&group_id=93438&func=browse it is not assigned to anyone though. Is that how it is supposed to be or should I do more? Is this the easiest way to get translations updates comitted ?
