Hi, yesterday Inkscape entered feature freeze for 0.46. At this time most strings are already in place. I'd ask you to translate your .po and check if there are string/translation missing in the interface. I've updated all .po (and my inkscape.pot as well) to latest SVN, so just doing svn up will bring you your actual language.po. Please note that some strings may still change, as we aren't yet in the string freeze. I'll warn you once we'll reach that phase. Thanks for your contributions. I only tested it locally but it worked OK for me yet it seems not to have been committed to SVN just yet so I guess you would have to apply this patch manually to your local working copy. Tutorial translation proofreading

Greetings I'm a freelance translator English-Spanish translator and also do style proofreading. When I downloaded Inkscape I found the included Spanish tutorials needed proofreading to make them more clear and "friendly". I was planning to do it but now that next version will be released so soon, I guess there's no use in proofreading tutorials of the current. Should I do it anyway, or should I ask for the tutorial files of the next version to proofread them? Please help on this.

Tutorial translations: switching to xml2po

Hi, is there anyone who objects using xml2po for the tutorial translations? See http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/DocumentationTranslation for the process. With xml2po, translators would get regular po files to translate, with all the positive effects (no manual looking for string changes; more dedicated tools than for Docbook; familiarity of amny translators with the format; translator credits for free (even though we don't pull them yet for the About box); strings from included images are in the same file; the Gnome people are using it; and probably some more). I am using xml2po for the German translation since pre-0.45, and it worked quite well so far. I have started automating the conversion process to HTML/SVG (to the then intermediate Docbook XML) in SVN. So if there are no valid objections overriding the plusses, I will soon start converting all translated Docbook XML files to the po format. Please submit any translated XML files that are not yet in SVN. I think now is a good time to tackle that process, considering that 0.46 is probably a while but not too far away, and there are quite some efforts going into tutorials recently (thanks Ryan :). I'm team leader of Polish Inkscape Translation Team established for making best Polish localization of Inkscape. We have agreement first Polish translator for continue this project. I have one request for Inkscape Team - please don't publish any Polish translation non authorized by me. At this moment we have finished 97% of user interface translation and 100% Win installer.

As there are more people actively working on the Polish translation and in an effort to improve Polish translation of Inkscape and facilitate contact among all people interested and involved in the process I have created a new public group: inscape-translation-pl@...167... Thank you Marcian. I got the pot file from the buglist. I'm using poedit to translate the phrases and i get an error message if i want to save the file. Maybe you can help me with the error message. inkscape.pot:7:invalid nplurals value inkscape.pot:7:some header fields still have the initial default value So i think i have to take a look on the options for the inkscape.pot and change something. but i have no clue, what.... maybe i have to use another tool?
