Dear Sir/Madam, I am Aireyanna from Hong Kong SAR. My Inkscape username is AYG_D.H.Care+Love . I would like to contribute to translations of your websites and applications. I prefer to translate into simplified Chinese (简体中文), although I am good at both simplified and traditional Chinese. I would like to participate in translation activities because I want to pull down language barriers when I and other people are using your services and understanding your features and functions, especially for those who are not native English speakers. You can download it at: https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.2.2/ then, if you want to support Inkscape, donate to the project at: https://inkscape.org/support-us/ ---------------- Inkscape 1.2.2 is a maintenance and bugfix release, which brings you 4 crash fixes, over 25 bug fixes, 5 fixes for extension bugs and 13 improved user interface translations. Notably, the OpenClipart import is now available to everyone, regardless of the selected packaging format or operating system, spellchecking finally works on macOS, performance is improved (in exchange for dithering disabled by default), extensions that modify colors can now also modify colors in patterns again, and for our maker community, we fixed some issues with the measure tool, the DXF14 export and with hairline strokes. Thanks to everyone involved in that release! -- The Inkscape team

Wiki instructions to merge updated translations are obsolete

Hi there, I just wanted to point out that the instructions in points 6 and 7 of the Wiki article https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=Interface_translation don't work. In step 6, when I click "Replace" and upload my new file, I get the message: "*You are not allowed to push to this branch*" [image: screenshot_2022-08-17_at_11.38.28.png] Previously, I have been successful in forking the entire project on gitlab, commit the file to my own fork in a new branch that I create just for the updated es.po file and create a merge request from there. The problem with this approach is that, when a new release comes out, my fork is so outdated that a new merge request causes nothing but trouble. Having to do this every couple of months seems too cumbersome, especially if you're not familiar with git, as I suspect most of our translators are. Is there any other, easier, way to submit updated po files that I'm overlooking? Hey, Lucas I just saw that the Spanish translation is still incomplete in 1.2.1. Would you like me to help you with this so we can get it into the next release? I don't know if there will be a 1.2.2 point release, though. Can anyone confirm that? If you agree, I would still need to get up to speed with the way Inkscape handles translations, so... no immediate rush. Best, Jorge
