Hi translators, Bryce just sent an updated release plan to the devel mailing list. It included this relevant section for us: -------------------------- 6. Release Notes - Apart from perhaps adding a few more known issues, we are probably at a point we can consider the Notes complete. This would be a good point to start translating them (or to bring existing translations up to date.) http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.92 ------------------------- I will start working on the German version today - but as it's a long text, it's certainly enough work for two or three people. If anyone wants to help, please contact me, so we can divide the work. If you need Wiki access, please send a message to either the devs, docs or developers mailing list, and also include the username you'd like to use. This information will appear in the "Help->About Inkscape->Translators" menu. Which translations should be included in 0.92 release?

(CCing the "translators" list, since this concerns them, too, but please keep discussion on "devel") Hi all, I'm in the progress of updating the Windows installer for 0.92 release and asked myself which languages should be included in the final package? Are there some guidelines or do we simply include all of them, even if they're mostly outdated? How was this handled in the past? Since languages seem to be hardcoded in "src/inkscape-preferences.cpp" we probably can not just drop those languages during packaging. Otherwise the language would still be offered as a choice, even if it's not present (which is is also an issue if the user decides not to install translations during installation). FYI current language statistics are attached (I hope it get's through), otherwise a copy is available from [1]. Hi everyone, Bryce has just uploaded the source code for the Beta version of Inkscape 0.92, and adapted the corresponding page on the website by adding the link to the Beta and renaming the other prerelease links. Translation memory?

Hi guys, how are all of you doing today? :) I was just wondering... I'm on a Windows machine, (Windows 7 64 bit) and I mainly use the paid version of Poedit (I only paid because it is a software I use for a long time and I believe in contributing money to the developer). But I was just wondering.. is there a more efficient way you guys translate your po files for Inkscape project? Is there a way you guys use translation memory? Is there a way we can get past translations from past versions of Inkscape and reuse them in the current translation? Preferably automated way? :) Any thoughts? Cheers. --Victor Westmann

Hi everyone, the 'The next release' page (https://inkscape.org/en/develop/next-release/) has been updated to match the list Bryce sent to the developers' mailing list (this one: https://sourceforge.net/p/inkscape/mailman/message/35409237/). The diff is available here: https://inkscape.org/en/cms/diff/?revision_from=55354&revision_to=55583 (doesn't reflect the additional classes in the source code for the check marks, though) There's no urgency to update the page right now, so if you're working on finalizing the Inkscape program translations, don't let this detract you ;-) Regards, Maren

Where do I get the translation files...

...for the next 0.92 release? Do we still have time? :-| I recently noted that we have a beautiful page to see the status of all translation files for the project ( https://inkscape.org/pt/doc/devel/translations-statistics-trunk.html) It's amazingly well done! Congrats! Where can I get the files to make the translation? Website: Shield gone again...

Hi everyone, just in case you wonder, the shield bug is back again (and the front shield, and plugins on the front page, are gone). I've asked Martin if he could look into it, as it's really annoying if everytime the front page is edited, we need to restore the shield manually for all languages. Please don't edit the front page, and if you make any other changes, keep in mind that they may be lost, because Martin may want to load a backup.
