Dear fellow website translators, we're currently getting quite frequent updates :) The page https://inkscape.org/en/download/development-versions/ has been updated to contain the latest prerelease version. The ppa link has been moved up to be easier to find. About the diffs: A couple of months ago, diffs were introduced to the website. We had talked about testing how they work out, and if screenshots are still needed. Very soon, due to updates of one part of the website's software, and the deprecation of another part of it, they won't be available any more. I believe that the change will also affect the page history (no longer available, no undo - only 'revert to live') and message sending on page publishing. If anyone of you knows about a good software (e.g. browser plugin, currently using update-scanner) that can automatically check for and show changes to web pages graphically (including changes to links and deletions), then I'd be grateful for any tips. Further forward, we discussed 0.93 a bit today. I know there's lots of work still to be done to get trunk to a releasable state. I would like to start gathering status on it, to get a better feel for about when we can start planning the release. Translation of 'Apply' button

I have been searching for where the 'Apply' button is translated, the one in all the Filters and Extension subdialogs (where menuitem ends with '...'). There are usually two buttons; 'Close' and 'Apply' - the former is already translated to Icelandic, but the latter is shown in English. There's no occurrence of 'Apply' in the PO/POT files, so it must come from the desktop environment (GNOME?) - the problem is from where? I've tried grepping the source code, but without clear results so far. Does anyone know here it stems from? Best regards, Sveinn í Felli

Ambigous string in inkscape

This string: "Choose this tab if you would like to see page info previously to apply DPI Switcher." To me, both the meaning and the grammar seem to be dysfunctional. It's a recently added string, which must have passed into the code without proofreading. Can anyone explain what it's supposed to mean? It's similar to "Choose this tab if you would like to see a list of the fonts used/found." Thanks, Sveinn í Felli

Dear website translators, Bryce and Eduard have made downloads for the 0.91.1pre0 version available for testers, and thus the page https://inkscape.org/en/download/development-versions/ changed (section at the bottom with prereleases for 0.92 was replaced by the current prerelease). If you aren't subscribed to the devel mailing list, you may also find it interesting to know that string freeze for the main program is scheduled for January, 31st, and that the first week of February is meant for us to update translations (dates may change, though!) Untranslated strings in Russian translation of Inkscape (and updating shortcut on Linux)

Hello! When Inkscape language is set in Russian, there is untranslatable strings in Preferences -> Tools -> Shapes> Pencil: "Base simplify" and "on dynamic LPE simplify". P.S. I've added point "Comment[ru]=" for translating the comment in shortcut /usr/share/applications/inkscape.desktop. It's enclosed, please, merge it.

Hi website translators, here come the latest website updates: - I have unpublished a couple of outdated download pages (not English, German, Portuguese), as was planned, so as to not confuse users with outdated download info. You can re-publish them when you're done translating! I'm hoping we'll see them up again soon ;-) In the process, I had to delete two pages (one Russian, one Chinese), because trying to unpublish them gave server errors. I'm sorry for any additional work this will cause for the translators, but there wasn't another way to have up-to-date contents on the website :( - Bryce updated the 'the next release' page: https://inkscape.org/en/develop/next-release/ (he marked a couple more things as class="done", and changed a couple of the list items at the bottom) - https://inkscape.org/en/download/linux/ and https://inkscape.org/en/download/development-versions/ have been updated to include the snap and macports info (Sylvan already found them ;-) ). - I've added a short new news article about snap and macports being available: https://inkscape.org/en/news/2017/01/06/snap-package-linux-macports-port-os… - For all languages, except pt, fr and pt-br, I've updated the images in the front shield (for pt, fr, es + pt-br, I only bumped the version number). Can you do the updates for your respective languages, Duarte, Sylvain and Roberto (and maybe someone could do it for Spanish)?
