Dear translators, Below, I'm forwarding a message by Bryce to devel / inkscape-announce lists which may be interesting to those of you who would like to contribute to the Inkscape main program translations (and who are not subscribed to either of those two lists). For the website translators, there's an update, too: The page http://inkscape.org/en/download/source/ was updated to contain a link to an alpha source code package for the next Inkscape version. See Inkscape's bug tracker for a list of known issues. == Translation == Translators are encouraged to start looking at translation work. String freeze will be in one week (May 22nd), but the i18n POT file has been updated in trunk and we do not anticipate any serious changes between now and string freeze so please feel free to start preparing your language translations. Please aim to get all translation work committed by mid-June. == Packaging == Packagers for Linux, Windows, and OSX should use this source tarball for creating packages for their respective platforms. Note that this was produced using the new cmake system, and the autoconfig build files are not included in this dist; if you require the autoconfig system for your platform you can still generate an autoconfig tarball from our VCS trunk, however you should prioritize shifting to cmake as we will be dropping autoconfig in the future 0.93 release. I plan to post further pre-releases on a roughly weekly cadence until we feel the codebase is stable enough for the final release, which would be late June at the earliest. == About Screen == An About Screen contest should be started at this time - Josh, you've run this contest in the past, will you be available to do it again for 0.92? Website: Another pre-release version is available

Dear fellow Inkscape website translators, the page https://inkscape.org/en/download/source has been changed to contain a new pre-release version source code package. Some items have been rearranged, the screenshot (https://inkscape.org/de/~Moini/%E2%98%85website-update-download-source) doesn't convey it all, so you may need to compare directly to the English version. Did anyone already try it out? :-) (the ppa version should be the same currently, I think, as there is no separate branch for the release version atm) Kind Regards, Maren

Website: New page and change on 'About' page

Dear fellow website translators, there have been two changes in the 'About' menu: - Martin has added a page that tells people about the licencing of Inkscape (and works created with it): https://inkscape.org/en/about/license/ The licence text it contains is also available in other languages, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0-translations If you choose to use one of those (or any other) translations, or even to translate the licence text by yourself (I wouldn't recommend that), please make it clear that the translation is inofficial, and that the only text that is legally binding is the English original (link to it). Also make sure to include the name of the original translator and the correct licence for the licence text translation. You can also choose to keep the English original text, and add an additional paragraph that describes what the GPLv2 means for users and developers in short, if there is no translation for your language available. - On the 'About' page, we've got a new link to the Document Liberation Project. The image itself contains English text. https://inkscape.org/en/about/ I'm still trying to find out if we may translate the image itself (we'd need to have an editable version for that, too). My mistake at making wrong page.

Sorry, Please help me (sujiniku). I am sujiniku (a new translator of Japanese at inkscape-website). I make mistake ,I made two wrong page by my mistake. "japanese-download-linux-inkscape" and "japabese_download_linux" are wrong pages. I want to erase these two page. but I don't know how to erase these wrong pages. https://inkscape.org/ja/download/japanese-download-linux-inkscape/ https://inkscape.org/ja/download/japabese_download_linux/ I want to erase these two wrong page. ----------- The operation that I wanted to is the next operation. about permission of translation's editor tool for sujiniku

For now, I(sujiniku) do not seem to have the permission to use editor tool. Is Website Editor is "Website Editor" ? Now I can't use "Website Editor" . Because I visit the Inkscape's official site, but I do not see the screen such as editing tools. Or would I need to install something application ?

Hello, I am a sujiniku. "sujiniku" is a my handle name, not real name. I want to translate the inkscape web page to Japanese Page. Therefore I want to join the translator team. I am Japanese person, and I'm Japanese native speaker, and I live in Japan. Therefore I can write Japanese language, and can read and speak too. I think that I can translate the inkscape web page to Japanese language.
