Swedish translation

I've started to translate Inkscape GUI to Swedish and my goal is to finish with the menus and main dialogs before 0.91 is released (current deadline for translations is the 18th of November but could be changed). Translating News

Hi Translators, I noticed today that a French translator was trying to tranlate some news on the inkscape.org website but in the wrong way (causing errors). The new system has been updated so the admin interface for the website is no longer required in order to make new or translate existing news. Go to: http://inkscape.org/news/ If you see colorful icons on the right, the you have news editing/translation permissions. (make sure you are logged in) Translating should just be a matter of clicking on the red translate icon and seeing the English next to some text boxes for your currently selected language. Inkscape 0.48.5 Released

Greetings! The Inkscape community is proud to announce the stable bug-fix release of Inkscape version 0.48.5. This is the fifth bug fix release for 0.48 and it contains over 60 bug fixes to improve stability and functionality on all platforms (over 190 for OS X since our last available package). Check out the release notes [1] for a summary of some of the fixes and improvements, the milestone page [2] for the full list of closed bug reports, or just jump right to downloading [3] your package for Windows, Linux or Mac OS X. We will be focusing our efforts on 0.91 and are not currently planning any further bug-fix releases in the 0.48 series at this time. Stay tuned for more news! Bugs reported for Indian Languages

Hi. I have reported the bugs through https://bugs.launchpad.net for Indian languages where Inkscape is not availble. I have also submitted translations for those languages as the bug attachments. Just as a curosity, i would like to know how would i understand if these translations are accepted by the community and if they will appear in the current/ next release of Inscape? I am interested in joining the efforts of translating Inkscape for Indian language(s). Please let me also know the process of creating new teams in case one is not available for a language. New to Inkscape translation

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I'd like to join Jabiertxo and others in translating the Inkscape website to Spanish. I'm not a professional translator but I'm a native Spanish speaker and have some experience as a writer and editor for the web. I'm still trying to figure out how you work here. This is what I did so far: - Read this: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/WebSite#User_Account - Register on the website. My username: eldelacajita - Sign up on this list... obviously :) Are there any more translation-specific guidelines? And just one more question about the general approach: Are Spanish pages supposed to be an accurate translation from the English ones, or can they be approached as the "best possible Spanish website for Inksape"? That is, can we adapt examples, tutorials, links, etc. to be more relevant in Spanish/latin context? Thank you! Best, Jorge

Inkscape website translation - Italian language

Good afternoon Inkscape translators, I'm sending this email basically to understand where to start the Inkscape website ( http://inkscape.org/en/ ) translation to Italian language. I was thinking to translate only the main page as at the moment being there is still no official translation available and this might create problems to users who don't know English. I've already sent a request to get the permissions as Editor, but I want to avoid any problems like: - someone is already doing the translation - use a wrong translation style - small details that are better to understand before starting anything btw any suggestions are welcome best regards, Firas Hanife
