hello, I've gathered a small group of people - the group consists of: me - Wojciech Ryrych, translator, Monika Płaza - proof-reader - she graduated from Polish philology Leszek Życzkowski - supervisor (especially QA) Currently our team is translating Inkscape tutorials. Now I would like to translate Help for Inkscape, this is important for users to to read the help when they are using inkscape. And my team plan to create manual in Khmer for Inkscape. New coordinator for Catalan translations

Hi all, I wanted to inform you that Joaquim Perez will be in charge of maintaining the Catalan translation of inkscape. He's been working actively in translating Gimp, so I'm sure he will keep rocking with Inkscape. I want to thank also all the people on the inkscape translator list, which have provided a lot of help with the most difficult terms of this application. Many thanks! en flag on website

Hi, I was told today several times that EN flag on the website is not quite recognizable, because it's England's flag, not UK or USA. Are we fine with that? Alexandre

adding a new item to inkscape.desktop

Hi, Currently all translated entries in final inkscape.desktop file get merged from PO files. Say, I have localized entries in another language for which there is no PO file (at least, yet). How do I add them? Create a new PO file and add them so they are picked up just like for any other language? Alexandre

A few issues with polish translation

Hi! I have a few questions. I've done next tutorial translation - the advanced tutorial. In this SVG file we can find images with English captions. Where do I make translation? Do I provide to SVN serwer translated images (captions) or do I have to translate them on my hard disc and provide only FINISHED SVG file (advanced tutorial)? In SVN serwer I've found only translated files - .po(t) and xml (dockbook). As we know to the package (application) is provided translation of tutorials in SVG files. Also we can find the same tutorials on the Inskscape web page. Who converted dockbook files to full (finished) tutorials then? Where do I have to send finished tutorial and where do I have to publish these html files so that it be on the web page? Next issue Why my make-svg script cause that in final file the headings are a bit bigger than in oryginal so that the heading for instace in Advanced tutorial is cut - a bit of it is out of the header: A text pointed with arrow should be "zaawansowane". So the text in heading is bigger than in oryginal or e.g in german translation - please compare it with oryginal tutorial where the text in heading is smaller. regards, Wojciech RRH Ryrych

Dutch translation updated

Hi all I worked on the Dutch translations of the 0,46 release and translated some additional 10% of messages. They can be downloaded at [1]. I noticed however that three days ago, an old po file was edited and committed [2]. As far as I can see these changes are created from a script, thus can someone with commit access commit this new version or merge the differences? It would be really appreciated if these new translations could be compiled in the different distributions (development and if possible the stable distro).
