Hi everyone, thank you all for your work on Inkscape 1.1 :D If you'd like to help translate the 1.1 release article, you can find it here: https://inkscape.org/news/unpublished/1049/ The short release overview at https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1/ is also translatable. I'm attaching the news and releases app html, in case you do not have access to the respective areas on the website. Note that website translations are only accepted for languages actually available on the website (see language chooser at https://inkscape.org , top right). About two weeks left to get your translations into 1.1!

Hi everyone, Inkscape 1.1 is planned to be released around May 24th! If you'd like your translations to become a part of 1.1, please submit them as soon as possible. In about two weeks (or maybe a few days later), the code will be closed for submissions for that version. Everything submitted later will then become part of 1.1.1. Inkscape 1.1 release candidate is available !

Hi to all Inkscapers! We just launched the Release Candidate of Inkscape 1.1, with a plan to have roughly three weeks of testing for a release around May 24th. You can get it here: ================================= https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1/?latest=1 ================================= (source tarball, linux appimage, windows installers and macOS dmg are available) We encourage you to use it as you would use Inkscape 1.1 stable, in order to find any problems people may encounter with the release. In particular, if you find any regressions, please do submit a bug report as soon as possible on https://inkscape.org/report : if nothing major is reported, the state of that release candidate should be close to the release. If you want to help with the translations to your language, it's still possible to submit those until close to the release date. Thanks to everyone involved in this release ! -- Marc

Welcome Screen Feedback

Hi Translators, We've had some difficulty with the text on the welcome screen, it's a combination of text and graphic and we'd really like to be able to have it translated. Originally we had the text included in the pot file but the technical limitations resulted in size and font issues. To try and fix this situation I spent some time last week sorting out a way we could translate the strings, I've put together some instructions here: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/blob/1.1.x/share/screens/TRANSLATING which go into how you would translate this text if you wanted to do it yourself. Be careful as the graphics and files are different between the master branch and the 1.1.x branch, translate only the 1.1.x branch But this is extra work for translators. So as well as offering you the above instructions to type set the text for your language yourself into the welcome graphic, I'm going to put the text here and if you send me a response with your language's translation I'll put each into the welcome screen to make sure we get the most amount of translations for the 1.1 release. I'm also interested in your feedback. This system is new, but I believe gives translators the greatest freedom to pick their own fonts and text location within the graphic. But I'm happy to remove it for 1.2 if it turns out to be too much work for translators. Please let me know! The strings are: "Welcome!" 1.1-beta available

Hi everyone! We recently released Inkscape 1.1-beta, while planning to release 1.1 next month. You can get the release at https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.1beta1/ for all platforms All testers are encouraged to test this version and report bugs at inkscape.org/report == Packagers == The tarball is not expected to differ much to the beta one, if you want to check that everything is all right for your platform :) == Translators == Thanks for your work! Strings have been frozen for a while, and it's not too late to submit translations until shortly before release date. == Developers == We have now branched the code repo. The new branch 1.1.x now only welcomes bugfixes, translations and easy-to-review changes; while features, performance, code improvements, or anything that was left waiting in prevision of 1.1 are free to go to the main branch. == All contributors == Thanks everyone for your contributions!
