Hi everybody! Things are starting to get serious with Inkscape 1.0! Currently, it looks as if there are about 2 weeks left for adding translations to the 'big' release. So if you'd still like to help your fellow language speakers out with a well translated Inkscape 1.0 (or its tutorials, man page, keyboard shortcuts or Windows installer), please head to the Wiki page https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Translation_information to see which files would need your attention. Website: Update to "Getting started" page

Hi all, I just re-factored the section "Building Inkscape on Linux" on the page https://inkscape.org/develop/getting-started/ a bit in case you want to update translations. (Note especially the pre-formatted texts - it's probably best to cpy&paste them verbatim) @Maren There is not incidentally a plugin or something that would re-use the same pre-formatted text in all language versions, so changes are propagated automatically? Fwd: LGM Hackfest in Rennes, France

Forwarding an invitation from Marc: ----------------------------------- Hi everyone, we will likely have our next hackfest in Rennes, France, just before LGM in May. LGM is May 26-29 and it's likely the hackfest will last for a few days before it (last hackfests lasted from 3 to 5 days). All contributors* are welcome and encouraged to attend the hackfest! Financial support will be available, but please sign up in advance (either by answering to this email, or by adding yourself on https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=Hackfest2020_Rennes_Attendees ), to account for possible limited hosting capacity and to allow expense (and logistics) planning. I hope to see lots of you there -- Marc (* not just code, a hackfest can be a productive time to write a tutorial, discuss some UX, progress on a translation, or coordinate some media outreach, for instance!)

Hi everyone, we need to work on updating the translators' credits file. It's going to be viewable from the dialog at Help > About, and it should be up-to-date for Inkscape 1.0. If you have ever worked on translating Inkscape (the program itself, the included tutorials, the keyboard shortcuts, the man page, or the installer. NOT the website), then please: * visit https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/blob/master/TRANSLATORS * and check if: - your name is in the file - the dates for your translation work are correct * if you find that your name is still missing, or that the dates need to be updated: - click on 'Edit' - insert or edit your entry in the correct place, following the alphabetical order - write a message like 'Update TRANSLATORS file with new contributor to Spanish translations' - click on 'Commit changes'. Wait a bit. - after that, the merge request form will open. - if you want to, add a description. - activate the following options: - 'Delete source branch when merge request is accepted', - 'Squash commits when merge request is accepted' and - 'Allow commits from members who can merge to the target branch' - click on 'Submit merge request' - wait for someone to review your changes Thanks!
