Forking Inkscape on gitlab to work on translations

Hello, I'm the current Italian translator for Inkscape. In the last years I worked alone on the translations, but now I have been contacted by some users that would like to contribute to the translation work. I created a fork on gitlab for Inkscape: https://gitlab.com/FirasH/inkscape and for Inkscape documentation: https://gitlab.com/FirasH/documentation but I don't know how to configure my fork to do the following: 1) keep it up to date with master and 0.92.x except for the translation files I added the original repo as mirrored, but as soon as I push a commit request I get an error due to mismatch between my fork and the original one (mirrored). 2) keep the "names" of the people who contributed to my fork in the commits (that I will review, then create a merge request) Thanks in advance, Firas

Arabic months

Hi, After a (very) long time, i will try to contribute, this time hopefully more efficiently. I was looking at the Arabic po file of Inkscape, and found months names i didn't understood. A little googling helped me understand that these were Mesopotamia names, and that the most used ones were those used in Egypt and Sudan (these are very close to Maghreb countries too). I want to make the switch, but i thought that sending this email before was important, maybe the use of Mesopotamia names was on purpose. Hi all, I am a Artur. I would like to translate the Inkscape software interface and Inkscape Web page to Polish . Who am I? I am an engineer working every day in a company producing heavy vehicles. I have10 years of experience in design (in software: SolidWorks,DraftSight,AutoCAD). As a freelancer, I do: 3D modeling (Blender,3Ds Max), Creating textures (Gimp,Substance Designer,Substance Painter ), Create game assets(Unity3d, CryEngine) Create script for Unity3d, CryEngine (Java, C++, C#). I like to do: hand drawing (pencil,eraser,fine line pen), digital painting (Krita, Corel Painter), create vector drawings (Inkscape). I spent the last 3 or 4 years for my family and did not do much with additional jobs. Children have grown a bit so I can go back to what I like. I do not have too much time yet but I hope that she will be able to do a full translation of the website and software in a year or two. I still do not understand the mechanisms of this website :) and translations. My first translation does not work exactly as I would like. But with questions, I will wait until I read the entire Wiki page for translators. If anyone has questions for me, ask me a lot. Regards, Artur Wróblewski

Update pages to Brazilian Portuguese

Hi, I am analyzing the site and checking the translations for Portuguese of Brazil, vi the new page of Downloads is not translated, I will also browse and check in the Brazilian language which pages are outdated, have many messages that I left aside in Last few months and I am unable to find an option in the menu to translate from English page, anyone can help me with that? Yes exactly , the first page was the problem. I can see that the rest of the pages are partially translated. Is it possible to take a local copy of the inkscape Website to test its modification? (for example Linux+apache+sql+wordpress) Where can I find a tutorial on how to set an inkscape page on my own server? I do not even know what CMS is used on the site. So far I have used mainly for wordpress. Just out of curiosity, what type of translation software do you use? I'm asking about personal preferences (each of you). Not what is available on the market. Do you use any dictionaries? is it integrated with your software. Do you prefer to manually translate the word by word.
